What is your favorite cavalry and why?

If you haven't voted the basic rohan warrior would be the closest choice I guess. You can still say royal guard and mention why here. That would fit.

I voted for the Rivendell Knights, because I think that they do have everything you need. I think that the Mahuds are also very good, because of S4 and the special rule.

I notice a lot of votes for RoR / Redshields, but not as much love in the chat. Lemme fix that.

I LOVE that you can take 35+ (40 if you really hack the list) archery shots in a 700 point game. Plus D5 on all of them. And when take bow fire, there is a 50/50 chance it hits the horse and they live to keep shooting.

Lastly, if drop your numbers into the low to mid 30's you can let all be F4 also. Redshields are too versatile to not get my vote. Lead them with Erkenbrand and you squash almost any other warband (with good tactics, of course.)

I do also enjoy my Morgul Knights, though. High Def, F4, Terror, Lances...

I have to go with Knights of Dol Amroth. If you want to replicate the cavalry charges from the films, these are the guys to go with. Along with Rivendell knights, these are probably the only cavalry who can charge head first into a spear wall or Phalanx and win. Put Imrahil leading them and you got Fight 4, Defence 6 models who are rolling 3 dice to win the fight (because of the banner re-roll) and adding +1 to wound due to their lances. If used correctly, they can be unstoppable.

I personally am going with Haradrim Raiders/Serpent Guard. Never will you find such a cheaper harder hitting cavalry model.

Warg marauders are definitely the best imo. They are closely followed by haradrim raiders/serpent riders (who both hit hard because of lances, but the raiders are a lot more skirmish-y with their bows and lower F).
