That pose would make a fantastic mini, here's hoping the Perrys have got that picture pinned on their office wall as we speak!

I find it funny how elves don't know the proper way to shoot an arrow.

Much debate about that image, for example:

Yep 8)

“I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there are going to be people who will totally hate Tauriel, think that she shouldn’t be in the movie, that it’s a betrayal of Tolkien, and no matter what I do it won’t be right,” she said.

Or should I say :"What?"

I think the fact that they brought her along for the sole reason of adding a female character in is stupid. Use more of Galadriel or mention Melian and Luthien if they want strong females in a male dominated film aimed at males based off a book written for young males by a male.

As for the way they hold their bows, I understand that the only way to shoot arrows that fast is to have the arrow on the wrong side of the bow, but they don't even have a rest for the arrow on either side. If you look at the Haradrim bows, they have a rest for the arrow on both sides of the bow, which would allow them to either quickly or accurately fire an arrow. In Helms Deep (in the movie of course) Théoden orders his men to draw their bows, and hold them. Recurve and long bows aren't designed to be drawn for more than about 10 seconds, so it's no wonder that the old guy shot before he was told to. The whole point of compound bows is that they can be drawn and held. If you look at the cover for the Two Towers video game, Legolas is holding a drawn bow, pointed straight at the camera, but there isn't an arrow on it. Also, PJ hired a sword coach, I don't think the archery in the movie had any more coaching than "Pull string and release, we'll edit the arrow in later".

Also, arrows DO NOT stick out of the body like they did in Boromir. They would have either gone all the way through, or at least most of the way through. The only way that they would only go in a couple inches is if he was either wearing plate armor and chainmail, or if the bow it was fired from was really weak.

She looks cool, looking forward to seeing how her character shapes up. They've taken enough artistic license with the hobbit so far that adding a new character doesn't bother me in the least - so long as that character is good, obviously. Cautiously optimistic, overall.

I'd also like to see how the mini(s) for her turn out.
