does anyone have the Geene Smaug at all? I am kind of tempted by it but then again, if you're forking out that amount of money, you might as well get the 'official' one. kind of torn between the two beasties.

I have both the Geene and GW Smaug models. Both are fantastic in different ways. The Geene looks much more like the film dragon, but it doesn't come with a base and I had to do a lot of work to fit it onto a reasonable sized custom base I built. The Geene is a fair bit larger, especially the wings. You can't go wrong with either model, but the Geene can be had for quiet a bit less coin than the GW model, although it will be a long wait as they are pretty slow to ship. Took about a month for me to get the delivery.

If I had to have only one of the two, I'd probably take the Geene just because it is much truer to the film version. But, it's not that practical for gaming. I guess it comes down to what you're looking for.

2 things that stop meme. The price point, and the base. I do not believe (IMO) that the base is suitable for tabletop.
I think the sculpt is awesome, and the vignette with Bilbo and the Arkenstone captures the film perfectly.

Whats up with the base? Not sure i undertstand why its not suitable for the tabletop. I'd say the gigantic lump of resin sitting on top of the base was going to be more of a hindrance during gaming lol
