I was wondering if anyone has any news about the sourcebooks.
I'm looking to get them all (but mainly the Free Peoples) but haven't had any succes yet. I've been trying to buy them from ebay and googled like a madman to find them pop-up anywere.

I was wondering if anyone knows if GW will re-release them any time soon. Or if the are other books out there that would give me the information about all elven characters in the game.

If there are people here with the books. Where/how did you get them? Or are there other people (like me) without the books but still found a way to play the game with the army they want?

I have not heard anything new. There was some speculation that GW was allowing stock to run out on the Sourcebooks before re-printing, or offering them as a Print-On-Demand or digital download. That said, it can be difficult to track down the books without paying too much for them.

I hope that with them hiring new staff members that there are plans to combine the LotR and Hobbit ranges into one large tome, or just updated combined books.

Coincidentally, I just received an email today from GW USA about this very topic. Here's what they had to say:

"Thank you for writing in to us! Unfortunately these books are no longer in print and we are not aware of plans to re-print them at this time. Please understand that we are not privy to future release information from the studio in the UK, so we do not know what may be coming down the line. My only advise would be to keep checking the webstore on Saturdays (after noon CST) for updates on the week's pre-releases."

So, there you have it. I'm not holding my breath.

Dave

Supposedly the new studios won't have anything available until November, but when they do we'll almost certainly get new books.

If you absotively posolutely need the profiles, you can use the LonelyKnight army builder.

Constantly watch ebay. Stuff pops up and vanishes on a regular basis.

Do you absolutely need the profiles just to be able to play the game? If yes, a quick google search can find you pdfs of those books. If you just want them to fill your collection, Im afraid you will have to be patient on Ebay or pay a LOT. New books from the studio will most likely first be books for new profiles for new minis, not the same/updated profiles for old minis they dont even sell anymore in many cases.

I just found someone that has the 'Free Peoples' book for sale and wants to sell it to me for €30,-.
I'm thinking of buying it, but would like to know first what people think of that price? Shall I go for it, or is it too expensive?

30 isn't bad. I think they sold for 25 originally?

They were 25 Euros? I thought they were about $25 US. I remember getting them here in Canada for under $30. That was when they first came out though, if I recall there was at least one price hike on them during their life span.

Seems like my hesitation in the beginning made me miss out on this.
The seller sold it to someone else for €30,- because I waited too long answering...
I feel stupid now... But atleast I know what to do next time. :)
