Logic/profile difference would certainly say armoured and maybe with bow but the bow option seems like a concession to his old LOTR profile rather than his depiction in the movies.

I'm genuinely surprised to see another Thranduil, I expected an armoured version for next year but not so soon. Another casual robed, unarmoured pose wouldn't make much sense.

Sooooo, if I had to guess....armoured with elf blade out for me please!

I personally am hoping for a dual wielded Thranduil
he's got a pair of twin swords, much like legolas who has a pair of long knives.
seeing the production vids on youtube the armor is looking and the mini itself should be awesum.
Gundabads are wanted, but dont know if im getting them.
Will def get Girion, at least a dale warband will have a leader.
Bear Beorn, im not sure yet. But am very happy to see a new release comming and will def keep fingers crossed for more.

I've heard it's a pajama Thranduil, from the scene where they interrogate Narzug.

That's what we've already got though isn't it? Pyjamas and elf blade out? Doesn't mean you're not right of course, it'd just be a strange decision.

Why would they bring him out in his Pyjamas? It's pointless. No one will want him leading their warband like that. It's silly.

I have to say I agree. He's already been done once for DOS and I doubt they would do him again in the same gear with a different pose.

I also doubt it'd be the armoured version as he hasn't been seen in it yet on the big screen (although we've seen the pictures and they look awesome!) I think that release will be for TABA.

For some reason I'm thinking and hoping it will be Thranduril on his elk. Although it doesn't have a profile it is the only other version of him we've seen so far. Fingers crossed, I'd buy that figure in a heartbeat.

Glad the Gundabads are being released, not so overjoyed about being finecast but I'll see what we get and for how much before taking the plunge (though it will be the same as the Lake Town chaps I know).

I'll definitly get that Thranduil, armoured or not (fingers crossed fort he armoured version..) I'll paint him up, much better than my other one, I see to thee!

Well, pajama version is, of course, only a bit different than the current version. It doesn't matter though, every miniature of Thranduil is equally welcomed by my brushes (except the very old one, nightmares I've gotten from him).

*Looks at gandalf's 23 poses all in long robes with a sword or staff, or both*
I wouldn't be surprised if they released another unarmoured sword wielding pose. That last one was very regal and definitely not a war stance. They could easily make an unarmoured war stance one with just a single sword...imo at least.

Tell me about it, apparently GW are wanting to phase out multiple poses in the same gear for lotr yet they continue to release Gandalfs! Not that I would complain about anything being released at this stage but I would've dearly loved some love being spread around.

Thorin in his big coat would've been great, Azog with his arm for the battle of azanulbizar, the armoured elves we see in the prologue of AUJ aswell as Thranduril mounted. If only the hobbit sbg did better I believe we would've had so many extra miniatures and a few more vignettes but now it looks like it's only going to be what ifs.

How do we actually know that the sale levels are not high? The only possible indication is that the limited edition of EfGT is still in stock; other than that we can only conjecture.

I'd say the EFGT limited set like you mentioned still being in stock, the finecast Thorins company that never got released, the fact that we're now seeing basic foot troops in finecast and the lack of coverage in white dwarf would probably point to the hobbit sbg not doing as well as certainly us here would have hoped but like you say we don't know for sure.

Not meaning to go off topic here. I've been looking forward to new releases for quite some time and I'll definitely be purchasing Beorn in bear form, 2 blisters of Gundabad Orcs, Gundabad Captain/s and depending on his pose/gear Thranduril.

What will everyone else be getting?

I've heard a lot of the new stuff is doing quite well!

Unexpectedly, the finecast lake town guard have been flying off the shelves. Mirkwood rangers ran out I hear too.

Element Games told us their sales in the Hobbit had increased massively...

Gundabad orcs are almost certainly finecast.
Thranduil is rumoured to be Narzug interrogation version.

Beorn is looking like it's a bear plus man form pack! Definitely buying that one...!

I think I can safely say I'll be picking up every one of these releases. Even if the Thranduil is similarly armed and dressed to the previous I liked the design enough for him. A lot obviously depends on the quality of the sculpts but I'm just hyped to be getting new minis at long last.

Has anyone else considered the possibility of a head swap with Girion and Bard? Luke Evans did play both parts after all. I'm hoping that the Girion model has a better likeness than the one on Bard and makes it possible.

My bad Green_Dragon I shouldn't have sidetracked the thread. Depending on the pose I might purchase Beorn, or Thranduil; and I am really looking forward to see how the Orcs will look.

I'm most excited for the Gundabad Orcs, as I've mentioned before I'd love to build a pure Gundabad force with Bolg, Azog, and lots of Gundabad Orcs and Goblins

Looking forward to the new releases, if only to view them from some different angles - especially Bear-Beorn.

I will definitely get some of the Gundabad Orcs. Looking forward to all of the releases though, but I really wish they were not in resin.
Sigh... bank account will take another hit so soon after getting a Realm of Battle board. O.o
