I have it primed on my paint station right now but just haven't been able to free up the time to paint it lol. I have a pic somewhere of it bare metal - i'll dig it out. I think there might be a pic in the rare mini's thread.

Shame she didn't get painted but his Aragorn was more than enough to smash my Bilbo into submission! :-)

Not having a Beruthiel is indeed a shame. I would have hoped for an interesting set of rules involving cats!

Wow, G.W. actually made that miniature? How on earth did you get one? Ex G.W. design team contact?

Cool figure, I assume that if they had manufactured a mould for her, that there were SBG play testing rules for her? (naturally I have seen the WOTR rules).

This is a pre-production copy, a prototype if you will. All members of the design team were given one but it was rejected by the Tolkien Estate/ GW quality control (can't remember which) because of the cats. So the whole model was scrapped. Was probably from a planned WotR expansion which was also shelved. only 5 official copies of these were made. I'm sure someone somewhere has probably cast a few up tho.

Just a thought how much through put time are GW getting on the way characters from the films look, have they now got a competent design team that can handle the new figures as in the past they put figures out for freelance designers and if you look at these most have now got there own figure manufacture/game company`s.As for Fine Cast it seemed a good idea at the time but gamers who have to pay to get these models don`t seem to think them value for money,For many gamers Metal figures will always be the ones they want but resin has been around for other types of games for many years WW2 a good example for tanks and other vehicles and they were and still are very popular as they keep costs down when building armies, when hard plastic came out for wargames figs it was shouted down in wargames magazines (no tinternet) but now it is welcome, as easy to convert cheaper ( from other manufactures) than metal but are widely used now just go to any wargame convention and see how many plastic/resin figs on the tables GW fine cast figures are OK but the Price is wrong in my personnel opinion

That's something I've always wondered about unreleased miniatures. Would it be wrong for somebody to recast them and sell them only for the cost of materials and shipping. It's a shame so many great models can be lost forever if "they took a lil tumble off the table".

All models belong to either the sculptor or GW so you would be in a sticky situation if caught.

Breach of copy right and sale without licence is absolutely illegal in the Uk and US.

Fine Cast DEAD?

Well apparently not? On the other hand all of these miniatures would have been released at the same time as AUJ if there were to be two films as originally planned?

Pretty sure that these new finecast models have been made for around a year. I would expect any future releases to be only plastic.

Fingers can be only crossed so many times before severe pain sets in, but I think i can manage one last time, just about. For better or worse, these sculpts would have been, if not made, then nearly ready in time for AUJ. Just check out the bases of the plastic ones - Leggy and Tauriel both have logs as decorative bases. So too does Radagast. Designed at the same time, perhaps?

Fingers crossed we get Bard in Plastic. I don't like Finecast Bows, or indeed any thin bit. Which is why i'm terrified of the spiders legs. Ironically, these would be be perfect in metal, as we could pose them rearing up and climbing on scenic bases and all sorts.
