Thought you all might find these interesting:

EDIT by Dagorlad - Sorry all, we've been asked by GW to remove these pictures since apparently it's the real Radagast model and they don't want us to see it before it's officially released. So please erase this from your memory cells, or, if any of you have a time machine can you go back a day or so and intervene before DezartFox reposts these images. Thanks.

Can't really comment on the details until a proper picture but wow GW has taken a totally new step here. Plastic heroes with a base attached to the sprue? Never done this before (except for the plastic fellowship in Mines of Moria)

They've been doing it for a while in Fantasy and 40k, the newer heroes are plastic, one model to a sprue deals. There have been textured bases included with those. Check out the following for examples:

No sprue picture for the Chaos Lord, but he and those spiky rocks he's on are plastic and molded to the base.

Personally I'd rather see new miniatures in metal, but failing metal I'd rather have rigid plastic than floppy finecast. Color me pleased and hopeful that most of the character models will be done this way.

So, based on the WH heroes it's pretty obvious this is a GW model alright.
Though I don't like this particular model it sure looks promising!

I have bought a number of the WH "Hero" single plastic spures, Empire Engineer and a few others, and they are really good, more detail than a figure from a multiple pack, easily as good as a metal one.

I think like WH, the "Heros" will follow this format and cost around £8 to £10

Personally I like the idea of the plastics taking over the financial catastrophe (finecast).
But I must say some of the concepts of some of the characters depicted in the Hobbit are a grave disappointment to me, especially characters already realeased by gw prior to these film(s)
From what I can see Radagast looks like a crazy Russian hobo from the gulag (What with the silly chapka, and the rags) I much prefer his original gw depiction myself; Then there's Balin, who looks like gnome librarian, yet again another better old gw concept than new pj concept.
At the moment I really am anticipating the new stuff, but I don't think it's going to be all good.
There's My thoughts on the subject...

Just got back from GW and was told there is something exciting in the WD and a new release on the 3rd (which we already know.) So all fingers pointing to 3rd Nov I guess.

So is the 3rd the actual release date for new minis or is it just the date we get to see the first official pictures?

It took me all of 15 seconds to find the images floating around the internet. While the PJ Radagast may hearken a bit back to the Dunlendings of TTT (aka 'Angry Tramps'), as the old boy was a bit of a tree-hugging hippie (ain't we all? Oh.. right), I have no issue with his eclectic attire. The mini looks a bit weird (very small images) and it is hard to judge the quality but it does look like the Sylvester McCoy character in Trailer 2.

I actually think that it looks TOO much like the actor, especially when side by side with the older minis. Having a VERY realistic looking Gandalf next to one of the older ones, I know I'll pick the one that looks more like Ian McKellen.
