More and more proof that we are definitely getting the plastics sooner than later. Pose 1 for the mounted Swan Knight has disappeared from the GW website.

Just posted on Warseer was an apparent confirmation that the price point for the plastic Swan Knights and Morgul Knights will be the same as the Galahdrim knights which is $33 us. I'll definitely be using some store credit that I have at a local game store to get myself 2 boxes.

Yeah, I saw that post as well. I hope that means they'll have some of the extra options of the Galadhrim Knights kit as well.

Actually, refering back to lostpict's original post he claims that the spures seem to be designed similarly to the Galadhrim Knights, with a banner-bearer and a head without the helmet to represent a captain. :)

I hope they'll be properly detailed plastics. The army of the dead were great, but I was real disappointed by the galadhrim.

The two SKODA I saw were a knight with lance and a knight with a banner. The fellow assembling them described the sprues as being similar to the Galadhrim set (for that matter all the newer plastic cavalry sets) with provision to build 6 regular knights or 4 with a captain and banner. I don't know what that specifically means regarding headgear of the captain. The banner I have seen was a traditional wide triangle streamer. Can't remember more at this point (I had no idea I was seeing something that others had not yet seen, was not to be immeniently released, and in retrospect apparently did not pay sufficiently close enough attention to detail).

By the way, the Uruk captain had two uruk-hai swords.

In all cases, sources on many other boards (who seem to be more in the know than me), indicate the release is for May - that should translate into sneak-peaks, advanced orders, or something in the next couple of weeks. Let's hope so.

Lost Pict who knows how Caleb and Joshua felt.... :D

Does this mean there's some new uruk stuff coming out? :D
Or is it referring to another model :(

I reckon that'll be ol' Mauhur, since he's about the only actual Uruk left from WoTR that doesn't have a model.

It was a Muhur command group - banner, drummer, and Muhur.

Sounds awesome, though if I were designing the models, I would give the scouts a hornblower, not a drummer.

Yep, but he's one who was actually invented by Tolkien, like Ugluk, Shagrat or Gorbag. He led the Orcs from Isengard who were sent to reinforce Ugluk's company.

Apparently in the Two Towers film, it's Mauhur's head impaled on the pike when Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli find the burnt Uruk-hai.

Here's what I found about Mauhur (source: http://www.tuckborough.net/ )

'Mauhúr
Orc of Isengard. Mauhur may have been an Uruk-hai. On the night of February 28-29, 3019, Mauhur led a company of reinforcements through the eaves of Fangorn Forest to come to the aid of Ugluk. Ugluk's company had been surrounded by a group of Rohirrim led by Eomer. When Mauhur's company attacked, some of the Rohirrim rode to meet them while the others closed in around Ugluk's camp. Ugluk's captives Merry Brandybuck and Pippin Took found themselves outside the circle and were able to escape into Fangorn Forest. Mauhur and his company were killed or driven off by the Rohirrim.'

now about Ugluk:
'The Riders of Rohan surrounded Ugluk's company on a hillock near Fangorn Forest on the evening of February 28. Ugluk did not attack, for he believed that reinforcements led by Mauhur were coming. He ordered that Merry and Pippin were to be guarded and not slain unless the Riders broke through their defenses. Grishnakh disobeyed Ugluk and carried the Hobbits away to search them for the Ring, but he was slain by a Rider and Merry and Pippin were able to escape.

Mauhur's reinforcements arrived but they were defeated by the Rohirrim. At dawn on February 29, the Rohirrim attacked Ugluk's company. Ugluk managed to hold together a band of his followers and tried to escape into Fangorn, but they were eventually overtaken and killed. Ugluk fought Eomer, the leader of the Rohirrim, sword to sword but he was defeated and Eomer slew him.'

So it seems to me they both got killed :p
Hope this helped some of you.
Jorn.

I suppose this is for the extra movement speed, which makes sense for scouts. However, there is no reason why they couldn't invent another tool to improve moment speed. The idea of scouts dragging a drum around with them is absurd.

Remember, in WotR, a hornblower and a drummer follow the exact same rules givin the formation +1 to their movement. Which is what confuses me...why on earth would GW give fast moving scouts a great ruddy drum instead of a light horn? And though I haven't seen the banner that goes with it, I'd be willing to wager that it's a big bulky banner like all WotR banners thus far have been

I hope we get Mauhur, but what I'd really like is a named hard-hitting Uruk-hai (even if it is entirely created by GW) in heavy armor. They could make a character representing a general of the forces that attacked Helms Deep or something. It just seems like all of the named Uruk characters are of the scout variety.

I actually like the Morgul Knights design, but I'll admit that they could certainly use some varied poses. I still hold to what I said about the SKoDA being too "Warhammery," but the design of having wings attached to helmets is directly from Tolkien. . .
