Im guessing most of you already know, or at least heard about Knight Models. They make really collector quality miniatures, and have licenses and produce Marvel miniatures (70mm and busts so far) and Star Wars miniatures (70mm, busts and 30mm). If you never did it before, you might want to check the Knight Models website because theres really some good stuff in there. Great sculpts, some of the best paintjobs you will ever see done... Ok, cool, but why am I posting this here in this section will you ask? Well, for some months now, there were rumours about them getting some other licenses... DC was the one everyone was betting on... and it seems the guesses were right. Makes total sense, considering what they already are doing... great news, but not really a surprise for anyone I'd say. There was also discussion about another license, or licenses... including Dragon Ball and LOTR. I have no idea about Dragon Ball, but it seems that they now do, indeed, have the license to produce 70mm LOTR minis. They presented some first peeks for both DC and LOTR stuff in an exhibit in Leganes, Spain. There are no official pictures or information from Knight Models yet, or at least I didnt found any, but you can check a picture that paloji took and posted in the Spanish Team Forums (just follow this link). Theres a really nice Superman, a Robin sculpt in progress, a stunning Joker and... BOROMIR!. I for one, am really excited for these. Really curious to see what these guys will do with this license and most definetelly will buy more than one! |

Very, very interesting......I am not personally interested in these, but it will be interesting to see some larger scale high quality lotr figures. |

I'm definitely interested in these. I've never painted anything bigger than 28mm and would really like to try out something larger. I also would like to try out those Narnia mini's that Andrea Miniatures used to make, but I can't find them, and don't have money right now anyway. Thanks for sharing MacGothmog! -Pow |

Man, that Boromir model looks so awesome. However, the typical standard of painting in 54mm and above is far beyond my current skill...I'd be reluctant to purchase the miniature at such a high price just to screw it up. I also feel like I just wouldn't be "comfortable" painting a 70mm model, if that makes sense. Way out of my realm of experience. Still, thanks for sharing, MacGothmog. If you buy their models, be sure to post your experiences painting them here! |

Harfoot wrote: do these models come prepainted ? No, no. They dont come prepainted or pre-assembled. They are just like any of the miniatures we are used to, only bigger. If they do the same with this line as they did with the others, they will all be metal, resin, or metal and resin kits, each one will be a numbered piece of a limited 500 miniatures run, and come in a metal box. |

Those honestly look better than anything new I've seen from GW in a while. More stuff for me to buy! |

I think they've changed the picture because I can't see it anywhere either. They obviously didn't want to reveal Boromir yet. |

No, its still there guys, check the 4th post from the top. You might have to do some horizontal scroll because the picture is a bit big and wide. But Boromir is definatelly in there, on the bottom right. |

I re-sized this image from the Spanish Team Forums. On the far right, you can see an unpainted Boromir |

This looks really cool, but if they limit them to 500 pieces, the price will probably be out of my league for a display model. |

Great news! I've painted a couple of bigger (54 and 90 mm) miniatures and painting them is really something I enjoy. -- Pasi |

I must have Boromir! Curse you MacGothmog for introducing this to me. I am just about finish my GW collection and thought my miniature collecting days were over with! And then you post this! edit* Just how much does it normally cost for a 70mm? On the site that is linked from the OP, a price on Iron Man or Red Skull goes for about 46 euros. 1 Euro = 0.834 GBP/1.316 CAD/1.317 USD $60.50 for a limited 70mm miniature??? Hmm... don't know if I can afford. What's even worse is that once I get one I must have most of the others if not all. And limited amounts are not good because that doesn't allow a collector to postpone and wait to save up. Don't think this collection will be for me even though it looks cool. Hope to see your work on these MacG here on this site. |

I hope they make the 30mm also. I've seen their capabilities on the Star Wars sets. And the prices are almost equal to those of GW |

Jaw dropping stuff... must... resist... Shame that there will only be 500 units... Pretty sure they will not last long. |
