sup people.

I was browsing ebay and came across this. I don't plan on bidding myself but great for anyone looking to buy the rare lurtz miniature. They post worldwide and currently 1 bid.

Yeah, I saw him too, but I don't plan on bidding either (I have on painted already).
That seller is great by the way. I've bought often from him, and it's always a smooth transaction, I can really recommend him. :)

what does everyone think about the price it sold for, I remember seeing one sell for around $50 sometime in January, however recently I watched one sell for about $8

There have been a few around in the last few weeks so there isn't much competition for them at this time.. give it a few months and it might be back up there. Seems like most people know its rare-ish now so put it up for sale.
I got one for less than a troop blister pack along with a banner and few other guys the other day. I think I saw the $50 one too.. haha happy I waited!

Be careful with that seller, I think he sells casts. Very high quality casts, but casts none-the-less.

As far as I know there isn't a way to tell thats particularly easy - you are just looking for the details in the quality. Flash and mold lines aren't really a given as I have opened plenty of GW packs straight out of the box with a horrific amount of flash or annoying mold lines (not on all models, but definitely on some [maybe the don't spin cast all metals]).
I haven't verified this with anyone but I think if the tabs at the bottom are abnormal that may be one of the best hints.

As far as this guy is concerned, I have bought a few things off him, all high quality and of identical colour and texture metal as the GW ones, so I'm pretty sure he is legit. He mostly has common minis not rare ones like others have and some are stripped of paint (why would you bother if it was fake? makes more sense to leave the paint on). I don't know how he makes any money out of it or how he gets so much stock but I assume he just buys off closed down stores or something.

I think I've gotten some stuff form him too. It's more just the fact that he has a constant supply of metal figures for over a year now, some of which are oop now (like 'zerkers' and crossbows). I'm just not sure how one would get so many metal figures so consistantly for so long, unless you were casting them.....But hey, as long as the detail is still good I really don't care. :)

I don't know where those traders get their stock from, but if they sell minis in such amounts they would be stupid to sell casts. I guess the risk of being caught and getting sued would be just too high.
There is another seller like the one you mentioned in this thread (http://www.ebay.de/sch/room_101/m.html? ... ksid=p3686). I once bought some minis from him and can only say that they are 100% original.
I only can assume, that they bought massive amounts of remnants from others and now resell the minis..
But that's just a suggestion..

Yeah, I would be surprised if they could get away with that many casted figures, but at the same time, I cannot see how they get the stock....

If you think you have a cast, take it to your local GW. The manager will know straight away and if you ring customer services, they'll replace the fake model for free. Obviously the model has to be in production and you may get FC instead of metal.

Especially that second guy also has large amounts of plastic on sale most of the time. As those are definitely not recasted, I don't see why the metal models would be. He has also had 'fine'cast models lately, something no caster would sell as metal versions go for much more!

No, a questionable cast alone would lead me to distrust a seller, not merely the quantity of models on sale.

Maybe he just buys lots of metals from ebay too (also painted ones) and strips them. I do know he sells stripped models. That would make more sense.

I think I've bought some 30 metal models now from that seller over the past year, and I've never doubted if it was an original model.
