That is weird. It was a finecast model. I cant imagine that it would just go out of print

There seems to be models disappear all over the place (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28416) maybe GW really underestimated the demand and are just removing them until they have got through the backlog and had time to make more models

Just had a chat with GW customer services. Apparently the Mirkwood Spiders and Gothmog are IT glitches and will return when fixed, you can still order them if you ring them up and they should return to the site when the issue is fixed.

Far more interestingly is that apparently Azog is an issue with WB who don't like the model and so they have had to keep removing it but hopefully he will be back soon. Very strange/interesting indeed.

If in doubt, ring and ask. Facts > Speculation.

Hmm yeah that makes sense re the spiders. Especially as you kinda need them for ToS.

Words of wisdom from the wise doctor yet again 8)

Weird that WB don't like Azog, he's one of the better Hobbit releases, IMO. Certainly, even if you don't like the mini that much, he's not so terrible that he stands out from the crowd as unworthy compared to some of the other poor sculpts we've seen. It's not like he's an unmitigated disaster that bears zero resemblance to the movie (he's not even just based on the concept art, like the trolls, etc, and hence inaccurate) nor is he in a pose that makes him look like he's breakdancing or something, like the new Thranduil. I get the impression that WB are a bit more difficult to work with than New Line.

There he is, sitting there where he belongs on the shelf of online shop. He is available in Finland for now.

The Azog on foot model is a bit stale I can see why they don't like it.

I have to agree. I think the mounted version is awesome. The foot version isn't terrible but I'm hoping he gets a better sculpt later.

Well on the bright side if they do end up replacing the model with a new one, any copies of the original are going to be worth loads in the future :)

Also seems weird to take offence to one model, an entire range I can see but surely WB has bigger problems to deal with

i strongly doubt about that, they wont be remaking any LOTR range minis, atleast not any time soon. GW will simply focus on the hobbit range

I'm not surprised that WB don't like Azog. He looks bad compared to the movie. A pretty disappointing miniature.

My biggest issue with GWs Azog is his size. I think they made him too small. He looks quite puny compared to the original Bolg model

That's strange, I like the Azog mini but dislike painting white which is why I have not bought him yet. Also his metal hand looks too brittle in finecast for my liking.

But hey maybe we'll get a new Azog, it's great to have options!

Yes but I'm not just talking about height. The model is quite lean compared to the bulky powerhouse movie version.
