Very nice! Glad they finally got around to making the mounted a foot versions match again. I might actually have to buy a set of these guys and some of the mounted ones. Any idea how much they will cost or how they will be packaged?

I'm not too sure on costs I'm afraid but I would hazard a guess that they'd be in line with Iron Hills dwarves. Would imagine a similar box size too, with FW resin esque casts making up a non descript white box with citadel sticker that all lotr has moved towards. With lotr being direct only, the the moment I wouldn't imagine them repackaging with images anytime soon

Yes! Dol Amroth for Gondor!

Regarding packaging ... I think they might come in sets of six (or possibly twelve), with various spare part options. So you could either make with banner/horn etc. or as standard men.

There would be some spare shields, so you could choose to put a shield on your banner-bearer/horn-blower or not. The kit could come with perhaps four spare heads, so you can either make them with helmets or bare heads ... or save the heads and use them on the plastic mounted Knights of Dol Amroth.

Sounds like a really well designed kit.

Well if they cost as much as Iron Hills Dwarves (12 for $60), they will have seen no price increase from their old metal versions (3 for $15). Plus the models imho look better now.

I wonder how they'll look next to my old metals I snagged on eBay - I'm guessing the old models will look a big chunky or big in comparison.

^Judging by what I see in the pictures thanks to ONI, I think they will look fine next to the old metal miniatures.

And just when I thought I finished my Dol Amroth, or close to finishing, GW releases these guys. I'll pick up the six. Don't need a captain, so he'll become a regular foot model for my warband, ha that's if warbands still exist.

I haven't seen anyone posted about the Gondorian captain Ingold, and that other Gondor General. Glad to see another book character getting a model. I could use the other Gondor captain as a Trebuchet engineer captain upgrade.

Comparison of the figures with the bases suggests these will be pretty huge. I really hate the inconsistency of LOTR range...

I've got more than enough of the metal foot knights, but depending on price I might pick these up for some variety.

I remember back in the old days when Dol Amroth first came out, there were so many complaints about the cartoonish look to the swan knights. There were a lot of cries that they be redone. But apparently they also became the best selling figures in the line. Some theorized that was because players could use them in Warhammer, although I'm sure GW didn't care either way.

Anyway, flash forward all these years, and the new ones don't look much different than the old ones.

The main complaints about the old ones were the limited poses of the infantry models and the massive helmets. The new ones look a bit more sensibly proportioned, as with the plastic cavalry. Same with the Black Numenoreans/Morgul Knights and the later plastic Morgul Knights.

Yh the old ones were kinda heroic scale and cartoony. A lot of the old lotr stuff that wasn’t in the movies was. Look at the unarmoured versions of Glorfindel and the monkey twins :-)

Monkey twins, lol. I haven't heard that term in quite a long time. Takes me back.

These look great. I remember back in the day, that I saw the plastic mounted SKODA a few months before their release at a GW store and no one would believe me. Glad to see these are on the way, they will make a nice match. I have both metal and plastic SKODA from back in the day and I always enjoyed mustering them for battle. I wonder if they will also do plastic Dol Amroth Men at Arms?
