To look at the quality of sculpting and taking into consideration the amount of time you have been doing this...well, the mind just boggles !
I think you have done a great job in capturing the essence of the Mountain Giants...amazing work !

I totally agree with DB, this is amazing work! And it's extra stunning to see this brilliant sculpt for someone like me, who has problems doing even the most simple sculpting works.
Now you've put the pressure on Gw to come up with something better than this, :lol:

A fantastic article, but there are very few people with the talent to make something of such detail and finesse, so I imagine there will be few atempts at making giants; however the painting section is of great benefit to those of us drooling over the large chaps.

10/10 hardly does this any justice - 100/10 would be fairer!

Yep! Great article!
I'm definetelly going to use it as reference for any more serious atempt at sculpting something.

Nice job. ;)

A truly fantastic sculpt, and infinately better than anything GW has come up with. This article is exemplary, and other article writers should take note of the well defined structure and articulate writing.

I loved the look of the final green, and although I have little inclination (or ability) to sculpt on such a scale, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the progression from wire frame to fearsome beast. Despite my (unfortunate) waning interest in the hobby, it is miniatures such as that which keep me coming back.

Thank you for taking the time on another of your excellent articles.

Joe

Am I glad you didn't sculpt the Argonath yet... it would have sucked all the sunshine from my woodcarving... :D

I will study your artwork closely; I could learn a thing or two!

@songadoor:

A House Rule profile was created over on TLA by Hithero. Have a look at this thread:

@Lotrscenerybuilder:

That Argonath is still on my to-do list. I'll do mine the old fashioned way though by carving down from a big solid block of dense polystyrene. No doubt I will be referring to your article on it though. I also plan to re-sculpt the fellowship models to be sat in their little boats as they pass through.
