This is most certainly the type of article we are looking for on the One Ring...perfect in every way !

Stunning results !

My painting has gone a bit haywire of late, and this is just what the painting doctor ordered to get me back on track !

Many thanx for taking the time to put this together !

May their be many more ! :D

Very nice! Your metallic blending is the best i've seen for quite a while. Good article as well, lots of pictures showing us all the stages. I'm not into Easterlings, but this guide has certainly made me think about getting some.

Good work!

very nice work, in fact i might get some plastic easterling now because of this article. i dont have any easterlings and did not plan on getting any, so i dont know if i should thank you or not ;)

you did an excelent job on this article. i too use something to hold the mini when i paint. although one thing i do different is to and the sand to the base before undercoating the mini (well its just sand most of the time nothing fancy). one qusetion...can you give any helpful tips on photographing minis? i know the basics im particularly interested in knowing if you have any spacific tricks you have come up with.

ty, and nice work!

Thanks once again for the all the positive feedback, knowing that it is well recieved makes the task of writing an article all the more worthwhile.

As for photography hints I don't realy have any other than always use macro (obviously) but pay particular attention to the optimum distance the camera has to be from the mini to achieve the best results. This will be stated in your manual mine is about 20 cm and I do actually measure this to make sure i am about right.
Secondly get your lighting right and also invest in a tripod that is money well spent.
Lastly I always use the time delay on my camera as this gives the camera chance to settle after the button is pressed, I usually go for 2 seconds but I occaisionally go for 10. Some cameras have remote control which is even better.
I hope that is of use.

yes this is a great help!!!

i do use macro, but now that you mention it, i never really paid any attention to the distance while in macro (duh). have several tripods and i do use them, i do use the dela, unfortunatly its 30 sec only :( so that can be a pain to wait.

thanx
