As someone who's painting skills have been slip sliding away of late, I just have to say how grateful I am Tim that you have started these articles, they are a total blessing ! I am glad to see that you did not overdo the highlights on the cloak, it looks perfect, however the thing that sticks out the most for me, is the difference in metals on the armour and the mace...perfect !!! Keep em coming mate...loving them all. |

I always wonder, while reading this kind of articles, of all those different layers and highlights are needed for the armour. I had the same feeling with Keyser Soze his splendid articles and every other kind of article which described quite a few steps for the armour. So, is it needed? I suppose it is (I'm just to lazy to try it, sounds like extra work, but the result is amazing so I think I have to give it a try... Someone a Sauron too much?) |

This model seems to have been made for you, Tim, beeing pretty much all metallic armour. Your style fits him perfectly (did I ever said that your metals rock?) and what a great job you have done! Again!!! Great article, easy to follow and plenty of very detailled pictures to go with it. Nice work Mr. Tidoco... Keep 'em coming! |

Best Sauron painting guide I've seen (or at least I remember seeing). Your armour painting technique is wonderful. I especially liked the "otherwordly effect" of Mithril Silver extreme highlights. -- Pasi |

Thanks everyone I am glad you like it, it was a model I enjoyed painting and that always shows through in the end result. Now what to do an article next, walks away in deep thought. |

Thank you Tim for the article, a great reference guide for Sauron, and I think for armour in general. |

Great article mate, great pics, and written very professionaly as always!:) I doubt there is any need to tell you how great your metallics are. However, this time my favourite piece on the model is the cloack. Just superb! Take care Torstein |

I was sure I'd commented on this, but clearly I didn't, so I best get on with it then. Someone once said, somewhere on this site, that one of the amazing things about your work is that you manage to produce quite a lot of it. I must second that sentiment. You have pumped out a number of fantastic articles, and accompanying models, in the time it takes me just to think about what to paint next. That's some talent, this quality at that speed. This is another outstanding model. I'm with Bart, I need to redo my Sauron, or buy a new one, just to try and get it to look more like this one. |
