Whenever I use it, the minis end up clogged and covered in thick black paint!! Thank god I decided to practice on a figure I wasn't planning to use.... Advice would be great! :)
P.S it is GW spray, by the way. :)

Shake it well, and spray from 20-30cm away. Also, only spray in short bursts and keep moving round the models to get even coverage. If you hold it in one place for too long, then it will cover thickly like you have already discovered.

It's also important to not spray in extreme conditions (heat, cold and humidity) as each of these has a different effect on the paint. Key things - shake well, don't spray too close or too far, and several lighter coats may be better than one thick one.

All of the above is good advice, but also, spray from side to side and don't hold it on the model. It is better to spray it a few times lightly and build up coverage than to try and do it all in one go. And when spraying, start spraying off the model, cross over it, and then finish off the model too. That way you won't get any initial spluttering happening.

Oh, and make sure the nozzle is clean too.

Let us know if these things helped.

Yeah, all this helped... But is the paint supposed to have a more 'dusty' black, instead of the shiny coats I got when brush priming??

Yes - slightly. Primer bonds to the surface, but is in droplets from the spray so you get that slightly speckled look.
