Hey, I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a quick and easy method for painting army of the dead, I'm not looking for anything fancy just a simple basecoat, wash or two and a drybrush however I'm not sure on which paints to use so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Billy |

I've been working on some Army of the Dead guys lately. My quick method is as follows: Basecoat -- Astronomicon Grey Wash -- Thraka Green (Heavy) Drybrush -- Astronomicon Grey It's never going to win any awards, but I am strictly a tabletop painter. I'll try to post a pic in a little bit. |

Those do look good! I prefer to do mine to match the Evil Shades and soforth as my plan was always to use them in War of The Ring. I tended to paint the metallic stuff separately, though. It was quite a lot more involved. |

Sorry forgot to reply ![]() Thanks for the help guys, I'm loving the simplicity of John's method as they do indeed look great however I love the look of UKfreddybear's greyish warriors, do you think a badab black (or whatever it's called now) wash instead of snot green would help give a less green more grey look without looking silly?? (no idea here very inexperienced painter ![]() Thanks again for the help |

I am using a Badab Black wash over the Dheneb Stone basecoat on my Goblin Town Goblins and it gives a good grey base to the model. Check out this picture. ![]() The left side of the model has not be reset to Dheneb Stone, so that is what it looks like with just the wash. |
