Would anyone know of a good substitute for Dark Flesh? My pot dried out as I haven't used it in a few years. (The name also shows how old it is. ) I was wondering if some paints could be mixed to achieve much the same color as dark flesh, looking to paint two uruk-hai figures. I don't think that I want to go buy the new paint from the new range of paints just quite yet, as I probably won't be painting my other uruk-hai in a while and don't want the new paint to dry out as well. |

Dark flesh, or doombull brown as its known now is one of those colors I use a lot of. It makes a nice mahogany color for my ranger bows. My rangers are high maintenance. Jokes aside, doombull is one of those colors I think should be in your paint collection. However, as you are not ready to make a purchase, look at mixing some reds into your dark browns. Dark flesh looks to me like a bestial brown, slightly darkened with some red thrown in. |

One thing you can try is to revive your old paint. You can do this my adding some water to it and stir it like crazy until it's back to its regular consistency. I've only done this once or twice, but I do know that it takes a lot of work, you just have to keep at it for a while. I'm not sure what colors to mix to get the same color, I would honestly recommend just getting a new pot if you don't want to go through the trouble of reviving your old one. I use it quite often, it makes for a good leather color, or even a good wood color. It probably wont dry out either, I have quite a few old GW pots that are still good. -PoW |

I have been using Vallejo paints lately - look at Loki's Greathall blog, he has a good color chart of the paints. http://napoleonicwargamingadventures.bl ... riads.html Calvary Brown might be close. If you are in the US, Hobby Lobby carries some of their paints and you can use a 40% off coupon. |

Cavalry brown is a fantastic colour, but is a bit too red and not quite dark enough to match doombull brown I think. |

Vallejo Game Color Dark Fleshtone. The number is 72.044. It was designed specifically to match GW Dark Flesh when it was originally produced. |
