I have been playing battle companies since it was first released by games workshop and it's possibly my favorite game type in the hobby. I absolutely appreciate all of the hard work that Erunion and all the other members put in to make the latest battle companies release
One thing I always wanted to do for BC was introduce magic as it's one of the funnest part of the sbg rules. I have been working on the Istari BC for some time. It's only really possible now due to the introduction of the mercenary rule.
Starting with 3 wizards and using a profile very similar to a wood elf sentinel you battle your way through other companies as normal and progress in experience and gold. Upgrading your wizards comes in the shape of spells and special rules. The spells and special rules you get are random just like when improving any other hero so you never know what kind of wizard you will get. The company can reach up to 5 wizards and offers something very different to other companies.
