I like playing these small struggles where on lowly orc (or hobbit) can turn the tide, but I’ve always thought that the Battle Companies campaign rules where rather half-assessed. Has anyone here tried playing Battle company sized games using the campaign rules from Legends of the Old West or Legends of the High Seas?

I haven't. But I like the Battle Companies scale of things. It's fun to "grow" my own heroes and see how the narrative develops.

Let me know if you do your own rules.

Its rating all the hero special abilities that's slowing me up. But if I come up with something useful I'll let you know.
