I don't remember the Dates. Both models are on ebay as part of the Big painted army.

I had to make a new photo. The old photos were made with the camera with floppy disk. The new camera is much better. I still need to learn more about using it.

A camera with a floppy disk? Never heard of that storage medium being used by cameras - just flash or HDD. The Weathertop looks really good even though it is just half of the location.

Wasn't Weathertop for sale at forgeworld?
If I remember correctly, it was for sale 2 years ago.

The mumak must have been for a very short time, 6 years ago.

@imrail: the forge world one is a different set, representign the whole weathertop, whereas the stor-only piece is only one half!

The store weathertop was on display from around November 2001 for the best part of a year. Twas only half of the piece that went on sale via forgeworld. They had an attack at weathertop preview night in my local in Oct 2001 I think. (featuring fully painted as yet unreleased minis) The board was ready but they used warhammer ruins as a substitute. By the time the game was launched the forgeworld ruin had arrived and was in place on the board.

The half weathertop was in stores around the 2003 era, and the dead Mumak was about the 2004 time maybe a bit later. You can also find pictures of both in my thread in the "Off-topic section. I will edit a post with a link here: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=23751

Thanks for the info everyone 8)

I'm trying to track down someone who worked in my local GW store which closed a few years back to see if they had these items on display

to those who have the two items in their collections, may I ask how these pieces were acquired?

Was the Mumak a converted plastic kit? or did they cast a resin version?

It was originally a converted plastic kit that they then cast and produced for stores in resin. I acquired both of mine during a store closing for being such a "devoted" customer.

Soooo I'm pretty excited to announce that I was able to acquire both pieces!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I found someone online who had the weathertop display and was looking to sell it. he come into possession of the piece when he rescued it from the trash when the storage room was purged. he then put me in contact with someone from another store which had the mumak, he was willing to part with the model so now I have both in my collection!!
