Just an idea for all of the one ring guys that abuse the use of internet at work...

Virtual death matches... Just post 2 guys from lotr you would like to see fight and everyone throws in their ideas of who they think would win.

First up, Faramir and Eomer. Any weapons they want. Fighting on flat open land.

Faramir wins- he fires off a quarrel from his crossbow, using might to make sure his shot(s) wounds Eomer and kills him. :-D

Boromir versus aragorn (not CoTWT or king elessar versions)

Only their swords.
No horses, shields or other kind of equipment.

Fighting on rough terrain with lots of cliffs and chasms.

Eomer, not eowyn. Not sure a crossbow is allowed.

Boromir versus aragorn -

Boromir is supposed to be the best fighter ever. Aragon would have to trick him or employ some sort of cool tactic to beat Boromir.
We already know what happened last time Aragon got too close to a cliff!

How about Aragon Vs an Urkhai in hand to hand combat?

Well if its the Eomer from the books, then I would say Eomer would beat faramir in close combat, though a shooting competition would be pretty close.

Boromir and Aragorn would be a good fight, though i would say Aragorn cause he was cooler :D and i always imagined him to be a better warrior, and he had Narsil/Anduril.

boromir would own Aragorn. what about legolas and boromir close combat on a completely empty plain. boromir has his sword and shield. legolas has his white knives.

This is abuse to the thread, .

Aragorn vs Uruk in close hand.

Aragorn would win, he would somehow get back from the floor which he was just pummeled to (like they always do in movies) and then turn around and break its neck.

The one we've all been waiting for:
Balrog vs. Sauron

:-D

'It's a battle to the death... To determine... who is... the Deadliest Warrior!'

That's what this reminds me of. No offence.

The Balrog beats Sauron any day of the week because the Balrog is a spirit of fire.

Beorn vs. Elrond in the woods any weapon

Elves have much more superior fighting power in much cases and also he got Aeglos.

Neiter Tom nor Sauron would wind.. Sauron cant harm Tom and Tom wont harm Sauron

Naw i am kidding Sauron would rule Tom

(Btw does anybody know who Tom is..? He doenst seem to fit anywhere in the myhtology of mr. Tolkien..)

Tom is a nature spirit. same as the Balrog is a shadow and fire spirit. Elrond considered him to be the one to hold on to the one ring. Tolkein had written about him in poems before writing LOTR so i think he just wanted to put him in the book to add another spirit.

As for the Balrog and Sauron. It would be fairly even, the Balrog is way way older than Sauron by 1000's of years. But then it would beg the question,

'Could Gandalf the grey beat Sauron?'

Thank you for you answer Manofkent
I have already read the adventures of Tom Bombadil but somehow that conclusion didnt come to me 8)

I guess if Gandalf could beat Sauron depends..

If Saruon would be corporal i would say Sauron would beat him, i mean come on he is that huge and stuff

if Sauron would be the necromancer though... hmm

he needed the whole white council to get him out of Dol Guldur so i would guess he would not do it..but who knows?

Gollum

He is way wilder and.. maligent. Sam just wouldnt kill him

Also Gollum would try to strangle him (see start of TTT)

What about Gimli VS Lurtz with just swords?

going back to Gollum and Sam, I recon Sam would win.
Gollum is old and wild, but Sam is strong and I think he would get a bit of 'red mist' and pound Gollum to mush.

As for Gimli and Lurtz, I think that lurtz would really struggle to get a good hit in. Gimli has good armour and there is hardly anywhere apart from the face he could get hurt. And he is stubby enough that just getting bashed around wouldnt slow him down much.

Lurtz is strong but Gimli could cut off an arm easily and it would only take one hit to the head to make the kill.

What about a cave troll Vs a Warg?
