I've been given the all clear to go ahead with restarting these monthly painting challenges so let's get straight into the voting for next months miniature shall we?

The purpose of this poll is to determine which of the above evil characters will be the painting challenge for the month of February. The poll will run untill 6:59AM on January 24th GMT, leaving everyone with a short amount of time to go out and get the materials they might need to participate. If you are voting for a miniature that has multiple sculpts, please specify which sculpt you are voting for.

Please note - the winning choice is not what you must paint next month, only what is preferred, you are still more than welcome to paint something else similar if you haven't got the correct miniature (for example, if Gothmog is chosen and you don't have a Gothmog miniature in time, you're permitted to paint up something similar for the challenge instead - like an Orc or Morranon Orc Captain for example).

For those that remember the old Painting Challenges, rules will be pretty much the same, for those that don't, the rules will be posted up with the Painting Challenge at the start of February (which will be located in the Works In Progress forum).

Great thing you are taking care of this, thanks!

I voted for Wild Warg Chieftain since I have it already waiting for painting, but I'd be happy to paint any of the others as well. Getting a good excuse to buy Buhrdur would be nice... ;)

Well I would like to paint my foot and mounted Gothmog (1st version), but I need to catch up with finishing off my Wotr army which I have 5 heroes and 10 SKoDA left to do, and I want them done by the end of February.

Buhrdur for me. He has been assembled an undercoated black on my work bench for a whole year now.

^^^Aah those backlogs, how many models you have building up untouched? I have maybe over a hundred or close to 200 and I had gothmog for quite a long time, maybe two years now.

@ Sacrilege - Don't worry if you're unable to join in next months, obviously it'd be great if you could, but if you have other minis you need to paint first, you can always sit out untill the next months Challenge.

@ ukfreddybear - I've chosen Buhrdur for the same reason, I've had my converted buhrdur for ages but lacked the motivation to start painting it.

I was just wondering, did you intentially not include any Good models? Are the painting challenges going to alternate between Good and Evil models?

When the painting challenges were first run it alternated between Good and Evil each month and thinking it was a good idea, I decided to stick with it. As the last Painting Challenge held before it stopped was Ents, I thought we would jump into an Evil theme for next month :).

I'm sorry for that Wiktor, hopefully you'll be able to participate in the March challenge which will be based around Good Miniatures (but if you're able to get the miniature needed after the poll has decided which it'll be, we'll be more than glad to have you onboard) :).

I've gone for Grima. Just because the figure is so dull I would love to see what you all can do with it to give it some character.

I have most of them evil models except buhrdur and the wild warg chieftain so it's fine with me. I voted gothmog btw.

I voted for saruman, cause I have one lying around that I should paint. (though I think we already did saruman in the painting challenge?)

I know the first Painting Challenge was Gandalf and one or two people did Saruman as an alternative, but I don't think there has been a Saruman one. Though I could be wrong and if there has been one before, no harm in having another I guess :)

Thanks for bringing this back! :)

My vote's with Saruman. I rcently bought him second hand with Isildur for only 10 dollars, and I'm itching to paint him! :-D

I also voted Saruman. He's a cool character in the books and movies and has been on my to-do list for a long time. A painting challenge will hopefully give me more motivation to finally paint him.

I'll have to enter next month when I have some Good People. I hope there is an Elf to chose from!
