I have actually never played extremely small games such as the ones in the FOTR book with the hobbits and the ringwraiths. Are these fun to play or boring?

I've played the last few Fellowship and first few Two Towers scenarios, and they are fun. You can easily play two or three of them in an evening.

I haven't played the scenarios but I have played some very small generic games, and can testify that they are a lot of fun. Perhaps even more so then the big ones.

Very small games can be very fun, especially if one of the players is new to the rules. The only small scenario that I've played was the Balin's Tomb one with a couple guys who had never played it, and it was great. (technically, that game's pt cost per side is pretty high, but the model count is low)

It's good fun as it can be quite tense! You have to be careful how you use your characters and where you move!

Cheers guys. I was talking more about the 5 model per side type of games rather than the battle companies.

I once played a mini tournament with just single heroes in a play off style game .. it works brilliantly and is quite exciting with magic being resisted and rolls being very important most of the way through, in the end it came down to Aragorn and a Mordor Troll Chieften ... Aragorn took it though.
