Just poking around GW's website and came across this:

Quote:
Azog™ was a mighty Orc chieftain and a defiler of the dead. He was slain long ago, at the hands of Dain Ironfoot, and never heard of again. Now, however, rumours tell of an Orc matching his description who rides a white Warg...

I found it quite amusing. Apparently we have a Purist working on GW's website.

Yeah before the 3 movie deal I think it was Yazneg who chased the Dwarves and played Azog's role, but once the 3 movie deal was settled they re-animated the scenes with Azog.

They did get a new actor in to do motion capture for Azog in their defence, he is not just a cheap cgi model :)

I know no-one was dissing Azog here, but it is a common opinion that he is terrible efefefef

Sorry, the italics are in the original, like someone was emphasizing Dain's involvement instead of Thorin.

It's funnier at 2 in the morning.

So was Yazneg originally the orc who matched his description riding a white warg?

Yes, you can tell by looking at the Yazneg model GW realised. It's clear that Warg was originally the White Warg and Yazz looks more impressive. Then there is the lego.

Also kudos to Marsbar for noting Manu Bennett's excellent performance. 8)
