Hello people :)

I've noticed an increasing trend that games workshop have been using lately which I'm rather quite happy with. They've seemed to be completely moving off finecast troops. Although the lord of the rings range had a few switches the hobbit range seems to only reserve finecast for heroes or special characters. Hopefully that means when the different variants of elves or orcs arrive we won't have to dish out $35 for four minis making it easier to collect :D ofcourse this is games workshop were talking about so we might see every troop type in finecast clamshells

Personally I think fine cast is terrible because of the poor quality casts, I have never had a fine cast miniature that could reasonably live up to its name. I am very much in favour of the move to plastic as the quality is perfect every time, and plastic elite troops are cheaper than metal, and the ridiculously over priced fine cast miniatures that just need so much work filling in bubbles and sculpting missing parts in green stuff!

moving to plastic will be nice, but that means only a limited amount of figures released in finecast means they will be rare in the future, so if you see them on ebay cheap it might be a good investment to buy them now sell them years down the road when they become scarce and collectors are looking for figures in both finecast and metal
