Worth a good read Having had the opportunity to chat to a lot of players who were originally sceptical about the rules changes, most of them seem to be in agreement that on the whole, they're much better |

Devlan mud, I think it's in place of a rude word I put C-R-A-P and it replaced it. |

Personally (being one of those who spoke to thermo) the new rules have enhanced the game to new levels. Like everyone else at the time, I was sceptical about the weapon strikes I now use them frequently and it never slows the game down (as it was thought it would). Yes, some are pointless (the flail one) but the rest have their place in the game. Nothing like clubbing their general over the head and basically transfixing them for a turn Defo give it a good read, lots of subtle things have changed which may catch you out during a game. |

The problem with weapon strike is that there free and don't alter the points cost. Suddenly the way a model is presented as a direct effect on the game mechanics. Minis with no visible weapon loose out on a free advantage. No matter how skilled you are with an axe, you can't be as strong as a cave troll. |

I love the Monster and new heroic moves which massively enhance the game, making monsters capable of the sort of carnage in seen in the movies, and heroes capable of amazing feats. However I have not yet used special strikes as I tend to play large battles and I may be wrong, but have assumed that it would slow the game down. I suspect that when you have got to grips with the new strikes its fine? |

Magic has changed a bit as well. Of all the new rules we are not using special strikes yet and are often dropping the -1 movement penalty for thrown weapons. |

Elven blades allow the wielder to win a drawn fight on a 3+ rather than a 4+ now, and volley fire with bows has been scrapped! |
