I sure hope so. After reading Nevinsrip post on how to paint Osgiliath I was inspired to pull out my set and paint it to match my other ones. I am now out of Dheneb Stone but it reminded me how much I really enjoy painting and using this set. I always thought that GW did scenery very well for the Hobbit and especially for LOTR, liking their statues and other bits and wish that they would release the Laketown set they teased us with. Would buy loads if they did any Rivendell sets. |

They barely support the fantasy scenery now, most of it is no longer available I believe... So doubtful for lotr / hobbit Also goblin town scenery was so expensive too.. £35 for some plastic planks of wood?! |

As much as I would like that, I don't think so. There just isn't something that fits the bill. We have already had dwarf scenery in Mines of Moria, It's a bit too difficult to do anything for the elves, so if anything I would expect laketown or maybe even some dale buildings, but I honestly doubt it. |

To be honest there's far better scenery companies out there. GW can't really compete in that market as they currently stand |

I'm expecting a few releases for battle of 5 armies (which will not include scenery) and that is it. As mentioned above, there are far better scenery producers out there. Not to mention, making your own scenery is a *huge* part of the hobby |

Yeah, lots of great scenery options outside of GW. |

I agree that making scenery is as much fun as the rest of the hobby, and I do buy other scenery from other companies, it is just that I liked the Osgiliath set so much as it is very easy to paint and has such detail that I can't match. |

Ruins of Osgiliath is the one scenery piece I have always wanted to get. I will obtain it sometime, hopefully soon. Right now the Ruins of Osgiliath is temporarily out of stock on GW's website. |

I would be more interested to see more sets like the Helms Deep and the Minas Tirith walls. The osgiliath scenery is nothing complicated, and Goblin Town is easy enough to do ones self. There are plenty of materials to make Amon Hen, Loria Tree Flets, and I have seen some nice Rivendell creations made with card stock... I don't see much reason for GW to work hard to make something. But those boxed sets in limited edition quantities sold very well and I think GW should look at stuff like that, make it and destroy the mold and sell them off fast. I could see the gate of Erebor doing very well if they made it like that, the two flanking Dwarven statues in the right scale (not those small book ends). Don't know why I am dreaming, still have not seen Smaug nor Bolg...I can wait on scenery. |

Bolg was a CGI creation and a fairly last minute change, if they are making a new model then it'll come out around August like Azog and the young dwarfs did last year and Sauron, the Fell Beast and the Mumak did back in the day. In other words, the digital/CGI stuff that GW don't have concept art for always comes out towards the end of the summer. As for Smaug, who knows? The above would certainly apply to him too but if they are doing a model they might well now be waiting for the third film to give the game a huge first-wave release. As for scenery, I doubt there'll now be anything until the third film and even then I wouldn't expect too much. To be honest, looking at the price of the Goblin Town kit part of me's glad they didn't release a Laketown set as, whilst it would look amazing, it would probably be prohibitiivley expensive to get a board's worth. We can but wait, I'm really enjoying painting the Hobbit range at the moment, I'll keep buying and painting as long as they send me new toys, whatever they may be |
