Almost impossible to say. There are many, many different editions, formats, languages and translations.

lord of the rings trilogy is about 1200 pages
the hobbit is a fast-reading , think 200 to 300 pages. if u are not able to read whole lotr, then read the hobbit:)
silmarillion is pretty boring, i read 50 pages and then i quit. (and i read lotr several times)

I wouldn't call the Silmarillion (spelling?) boring, it's just slow and difficult to read. It gets better as you go on though.

I agree . :)

As MacGothmog stated, the page numbers may vary. This may help though (roughly the number of pages of my versions):

The Fellowship of the Ring (425-525 pages)

The Two Towers (350-440 pages)

The Return of the King (375 pages without Appendix, 530 pages with (I think) full Appendix (A-F))

Note: These pages were from the hardback books with all three parts in it (FotR,TT and the RotK), while these were from the single paperback versions. I don't know if this changes the page numbers or anything. The Return of the King page numbers were the same in both versions.

The Hobbit (365 pages) - although I think my version has a larger font than others.

The Children of Hurin (260 pages without Appendix, 315 with Appendix) - not including artwork by Alan Lee.

Note: The maps and index in all of the books are not included in the page count, but the forewords/synopsis are.

I hope this helps. 8) Unfortunately I don't own a copy of the Silmarillion, so I can't help you there.
