I'm going to guess that some of you may have already seen this if you have JRR Tolkien as a 'like' on FB, but Corey Olsen, who has the nickname the "Tolkien Professor" is offering his Hobbit lecture for download. I've only listened to Part 1 so far but I'm enjoying them.

I few years ago I picked up Professor Michael Drout's audio lecture "Of Sorcerers and Men" and have really enjoyed his insights, so this looks to be a nice companion. Based on some of his intro comments I'm guessing Olsen's Hobbit lecture was recorded shortly after the announcement of making the Hobbit film. He talks about it coming up but doesn't make reference to it including the expanded story line. However, he's focused on Tolkien and the text itself anyway, not a movie perspective, so it's much of a factor.

I'm not sure if this will be a permanent download or short term offer only.

I had a look at this and it linked onto the professor himself reading extracts from his work.
It was very interesting to actually hear what he sounded like.
Nice find :-)
