Since there seems to be quite a few people on OR site who are writing novels, I thought I'd create this poll to find out how many people are writing fantasy novels, I myself am still writing one.

I'll give a brief descriptin. I won't reveal too much, mostly because I'm paranoid that someone will see it online, write it themselves and then publish and copyright it so I can't.

It's a fantasy novel, set in a parallel version of Great Britain a few years after the Battle of Hastings, England is under attack from strage creatures and spirits led by the myserious 'One with No Name'. Only 7 children from a lonely village can defeat him, with the careful guidance of the last of the Great Wizards.

7 children reminds me of my thoughts about seven kingdoms of men who splitted in my fantasy(they are cousins instead) but that is set a long before my novel :-D
Anyway my plot is about a team of Kings(most of them, aroudn 9-11 persons) who wants to destroy the ring of time...(No into a voclano, don't worry) and they get more adventures huntedby the evil...(Sorry i will reveal no more)

Today I finished my third chapter with total 58 pages...
But the pages are too big so I think in book form they should be around 85...
I decided to continue my early addaption but I will also write the story set 50 years ago...
So I will have more work writing two novels that are connected together

I'm writing a dramatic Western novel set in the late 1800s. A coal miner named Louis is employed in a border town in Texas (inspired by the modern day ghost town, Darwin, Texas), but he does not have enough money to support his love Lydia, and refuses to get married to her until he is sure he can provide for her. Overhearing two of his co-workers talking about a bounty on a local gang and the possibility of taking that gang's gold, Louis accompanies the men to get the money.

There are several twists in the novel as well. I have done a lot of planning, and am just now beginning to write it, hoping to finish it with lulu publishing (major props to Ritcherd for the link to that site in another thread!!!).

I've started a novel out of boredom during school and its turned into a full-fledged project. It's set in the year 2031 where a kid stumbles upon a time machine in the particle accelerator place ( forgot what it's called ). He then turns it on and goes into the future with his friend. It's the year 7011 and a madman wants to convert a entire planet into an army of super soldiers to forge his own empire. I'm creating a series where these kids ( George , River , Jack ) time travel to different places ( Yes I know it's a bit doctor who-ish  )

Good to see so many people.
Elrondio, it looks good, is River's last name Song? Future is good for making up history.
Nice Jamros, sounds like you've put a lot of thought into it.
Dorth, any more info please?

I'm actually plotting out a script, rather than a novel. However, my girlfriend is working on character profiles for her own fantasy-novel.

I wrote another 2 pages by now but I usually write more in the night and I am planning to write another two... :D
So as for now
Almost 61 pages in big paper
three chapter completed, chapter 4 is ongoing
So as far as i have think I have write the 25%(When i finish I will rewrite the whole novel with more description adding conversations because i randomly appear things not discussed before and i will like to include them and also to fix grammar mistakes)
My novel will be around 240 pages but in big paper so in book form it should be around 350(But when I will rewrite it I think it would be more) :-D

I had started one about two years ago, but have been stalled and have moved into a non-fiction commentary.

I see no one has gotten to publishing. Don't foget that's not always so easy, it cost lots of money to. My comic is finished and will be done printing at the end of the month (or so they said). Really happy to have it completed. I did it in a rush but still took ages to make.
