Hey guys,
I'm looking to field some Corsair Reavers sometime in the near future. I've thought about doing the usual conversion with sword-armed Corsairs, but don't really wanna sacrifice them.
Anybody know of any alternate piratey-fanaticy-models which would be good substitutes?
GW/Non-GW whatever. I really can't seem to find much atm.

Thanks. :)

I personally have not encountered any non G.W. miniatures that fit in with the Weta design. Personally I really enjoyed and am happy with the four that I converted and have finished painting. All the Corsairs bar Dalamyr are converted. There are two corsairs far right, one far left and one immediately left of Dalamyr. They all have two hand weapons and at least one severed head about their person to make clear that they are Corsair Reavers.

It is pretty tough to find anything close to corsairs which isn't over the top. I can't seem to find the 1 other product I thought was ok, so I'll try looking for it but no guarantees.

These guys are ok, but not exactly cheap. http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=221_222_46_203_205&products_id=3971

A quick google search has found me these models:
http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/i ... 46_203_205
and
http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/our-rang ... s-corsair/
The first ones are from an old LotR range from 20 or 30 years ago, I think sold by Harlequin or Citadel, but a different company sells them now.
The second link is to Wargames Foundry. They always have lovely models, and maybe there's something in there that you like. Perhaps these Fanatic Swordsmen (http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/files/ca ... _f2891.png)?
Alternatively, you can just buy some loose Corsairs on ebay and convert those.

Personally, I converted some Reavers from normal Corsairs, but using torches in their left hands. You can see them here: http://www.thelastalliance.com/viewtopi ... 0&start=30

Love your paint scheme Bilbo :) Will be going for blacks and browns myself when I do my conversions so I have an evil army for these batreps!

You can also convert the archer: two or three poses are perfected to create reavers

Cheers Thermo,

I was influenced by them being called "Sea Rats" and went for browns and rust metals.

A bit different, but half of these could be good (you could probably ask for only those with two swords): http://indusminiatures.mybigcommerce.com/ghazis/
And be sure to add this one from Musketeer: http://www.musketeer-miniatures.com/ima ... Finch2.jpg

Thanks for all the replies guys, you did a lot better searching than I did.
Have to say that the Fanatic swordsmen are pretty good, thanks Feanor.
Coenus those would be absolutely ideal but I don't really like the headgear as they don't have a middle earth equivalent. Guess I could shave them off/ do head swaps but I've probably not got enough suitable heads, thanks a lot though, as the dimensions seem to be really good.

I have found these on the same website though, painted up in a fitting colour scheme I think they'd look pretty good as they've got that 'fanatic' look about them.

Once again thanks for all the quick replies guys. :-D
