ive heard that testors is the most matt finished varnish you can buy so i wanna get some. i just wondered if anyone has any advice on using it??? do you apply it straight over the model it after a coat of purity seal etc? do you paint it on or is it best to use a spray gun? and if you do use a spray gun would it work with the citadel one? thanks in advance 1egolas |

Just stir and shake well and brush it on...no need for purity seal, dull coat will do the same job only much much better.I wouldn't bother with spraying it..you'll lose a fair amount of it that way..just pick a mid size brush and away you go. |

It is a case of what paints you are using. Testors can 'eat' away at inks so beware. I've had a couple of goes and I am settling on a coat of Purity seal then two coats of testors. On my Merry article I was still in the experimental phase and it didn't really work, but if you check my WIP thread I have used the above method on my 'dead' figures and as you can see the stuff is flawless. Good luck, though it can be a bit tough to come by. I found some by continually checking Antenociti Workshop and struck lucky one night so I ordered a couple to keep me going. |

I have been using testors over a coat of gloss and it has worked well sprayed. Does anyone have experience with the Citadel matt varnish spray can? |

ive seen the matt varnish cans before on forums and guides and things but ive never actually seen it in gw or on their webstore is it oop or something. i have used vallejo matt varnish spray and that works pretty well but its quite easy to put too much on and that gives a satin finish so im prefering to paint varnishes on now |
