Make 'em plastic and I'll buy loads of 'em! Is there a cheaper way to get Uruk Hai Crossbowmen than the metals? Some of the pike-men look like they're posed well to hold crossbows. Is it possible to make a conversion with, say Dwarven WFB crossbows>? Or is there anything else anyone's tried that's worked for them?

here's a site, where there are some pics of regular uruk infantry, but converted to be crossbowmen.

I have looked into this a bit myself, and I think that converting from uruk warriors is the way to go. Here are two stores I have found with 28mm scale crossbows. (the second doesn't explicitly say this, but I assume as the other models they sell are 28mm)

The second option is cheaper, and seems to be quite a bit more detailed, that's what I would go for.

What I've done for my younger brother is simply cut off the pike above the Uruk-hai's hand, and then glue a bow on the end and stick a quiver on the Uruk-hai's belt. It's not the best conversion in the world but it's easy and does the job sufficiently.
