I used two pins on each wing, then Super Glue, then Green Stuff, then mote super glue. Then, I let it dry for two days before I even thought about touching it. That said, all large metal models can be a real pain. |

Yes this is a tough one to do. I double pinned each wing, and I prefer to use a two part epoxy glue like ARALDITE, than superglue. I tend to find superglue can be a bit brittle for big heavy stuff like this. The Araldite seems better at holding the joint in my experience. Its only hassles are that you first must mix it (fairly easy on an old bit of card, 50/50 or half and half ratio, with an on cocktail stick or similar?. Apply thinly to both surfaces, and hold or support joint for 5 mins or so while it sets. Full strength after about 24 hours. For big stuff that's difficult to support with blutac etc, I tend to just hold the the two parts together firms with my hands. Stick the TV on, put a clock where you can see it, glue the part and go and sit down and watch TV for a few mins till it sets in your hands. Keep still while its setting! Once glued, fill any gaps with greenstuff. If you can manage this then you will find other similar projects easy to do the same way, like the dragon model. Best of luck Scott |
