I've decided that the Troll i'm doing for th epainting challenge needs a dead elf on its base, but I'm not sure whether it would be petter to use a plastic archer higher elf or a plastic swordsman high elf.

Could you please help me before I'm too late to complete the challenge. Thank you. :)

I'd say you have more options when it comes to converting a dead pose if you use a swordsman rather than an archer. I converted some high elves not long ago and the options for different poses on the swordsman far exceeded those of the archers - I can post a pic of them if it helps - tho they are not dead so it may or may not help with what your doing.

Edit: Having said that if you snipped the bow of an archer ( the one thats kind of reaching for an arrow ) and placed him face down he'd look pretty dead - minimal converting.

Thanks, it would be nice to see a pic, even if it is a live elf, it may help.

The swordsman are really quite easy to convert as their arms are pretty straight once you cut them off they are easy to move into a different position where they don't look out of place. I'd say the archers a are a lot harder to convert.

Hope this is helpful.

Edit: You could kind of use the pose of the elf on the far right and have him sort of holding himself up like in a press up position - not quite dead but well on the way lol

Best of luck with the conversion and entry. My suggestion would be a sword armed elf (even if it has a bow to begin with), purely because they'd pull the blade out when the troll was in close combat range, I'd imagine...

Thanks for that guys. Nice logical answer Hashut's Blessing. Oh and DMS - because of their silly cloaks, I have to do him facing up, actually, but he's turning out o.k. at the moments.

Thanks again. :D

Probably late, but if there are any difficult places with the dead Elf, just put a Troll foot on him. 8)

I used the Galadhrim warriors box with a last alliance box to make my elf army.
It gives you 16 spears, 16 bows and 8 spears and shields
I find it is cheeper then getting shipping the metal spear warriors shipped to you.
Combine that with gil-galad and elrond you get a sizeable army although you can only use 14 bows (if you round up)
