I've got about 1000 models to paint. I need to base paint/spray them first.
Can anyone suggest an alternative method instead of the paint spray from games workshop as I would need about 30 bottles (too expensive).
Do B&Q or anythjing offer alternatives?
Many Thanks

hiya, if you mean undercoat, then I always use Halfords matt black spray (they also do grey plastic primers and whites).
Designed for car bodywork so the stuff is fine, large cans I think are £7.99.
Bottom line is 1000 models will need quite a few cans, and it will have to be some form of spray, never seen anything of quality less that £7/8 quid a can. Using your own paint gun is still laborious and a decent set up expensive.
For other base coats, army painter have started increasing their range of colours, not yet tried but I intend to!

I can normally get about 100 figures out of a can of GW spray undercoat, so that would only be 10 cans. Wait, 10 cans costs $200! I can see why you're looking for something cheaper. I have heard Halfords recommended before as well.
For this many figures anything is going to be expensive, no matter what you do.

That many models, I'd say go to your local hardware store. You should be able to get a small can (brush can, not spray can) of a suitable primer. Combine that with a paint sprayer & you should be able to get decent results in short order. That'll put you at risk of a gloppy covering, so you'll have to be careful in the application.
Bottom line, with 1000 minis, you've got your work cut out for you no matter what. Sorry.
