I wanted to ask if there is a way to protect the miniatures' paint other than varnishing them. Mat varnish is too glossy and looks unnatural. Is there a way to preserve the paint without distorting the appearance of the miniatures? Is purity seal effective in reducing the gloss while simultaneously protecting the color? I just don't want all my hard work to go to waste |

get a non glowing varnish...purity seal normally works well, but if you wanna spare money or get s quality one, go to a paint store, normally the varnish use to protect the painting are normally the best ones, just remember, do not spray the miniature heavily, normally I give 1 click per facing(front and back) and very lightly to avoid the glowing and its enough to offer a good protection |

the seacret is to use it as little as possible, even the most matt varnish will turn to gloss if you overdo it |

I did use mat varnish before, but the gloss was obvious. Maybe my mistake was on the amount applied. I'll give it another shot with less varnish. Quote: I use rowney gloss painted on, then once dry i paint with testors dullcoat How is it working for you? Is the dullcoat aimilar to purity seal in function? |

Quote: I tend to use 1 or 2 coats and now shine come through You mean no shine? Because I am a bit confused just to clarify things: 1)Matt Varnish does not protect the paint? 2)I need to use a gloss varnish and then dull it down? 3)Is the protection offered sufficient (at least from normal wear)? So far I had used both gloss and mat varnish. Neither had adequately protected the miniatures and both had left a glossing effect. |

Thank you so much for your time and replies. I will be using both glosses as you suggested. Hopefully the wargaming stores I know of, stock the specific brand, since the company cannot deliver it to Greece due to customs' regulations. |
