The GW Rangers of Middle-Earth figures tend to be on the large side. Stand them next to Warriors of the Last Alliance and the scale creep is immense. I bought some used figures the other day and it took me a while to figure out what they were. But they are awesome Ranger conversions that are not giants! They are just Warriors of Rohan with Green Stuff hoods added on. I thought they came out great. I will have to make some of my own and add them to my Rangers. |

In defence of the very awesome Rangers plastic set. The Last alliance set was the first figures made for SBG. . The plastic elves look like hobbits next to the metal ones (that came out at the same time) and the metal numenor are bigger too. Rohan followed only one year later so of course they also had this scale issue, but no metal rohan warriors were made at the time so there was nothing to make the force look odd The plastics scale issues were finally fixed and orcs and rangers and many other sets are in good scale over all with most of the range. There are many other examples of bad scale throughout the entire line. The rohan warriors with hoods look good, I used a rohan head with hood on an TLA elf archer to make a elf scout and it looked great. |

Yeah, alas the first three generations of plastics - High Elves, Moria Goblins, Orcs, Uruk Hai, Rohan, Numenor and Gondor - are all in a much smaller scale than the contemporary metals (Rohan Royal Guards, Metal high elves with spears) and in a smaller scale than the current set of plastics. Even the later Dwarves are of a grander scale than the earlier Rohan figures. But as a way to expand the utility of those earlier, smaller, figures, this is genius. |

Nice idea and I often find Rohan troops to go cheaper than Rangers on eBay. I might just get some of these guys in the future. |
