Post subject:  Army Painter Antishine matt varnish vs W&N artists matt

I tried many varnishes for years. Everything I used ruined my models with a bit of shininess whatever I tried.
So I wish to get something to spray or brush em as a final coat that won't shine at all.
Some people talk about the Army Painter Antishine matt varnish. This comes as a bottle too, has anyone tried this?
Others say that the best is the Winsor & Newton artists(or professional but I find only the artists version around here) matt varnish. It is rather cheap and W&N is a solid company.

I heard from someone that if I mix the vallejo matt varnish with matt medium I will get no shine at all. It is maybe an option...

So who has tried both and can ensure me what will not shine and ruin my highlights?
It will help me so much informing me before buying. Sorry for my grammar mistakes.

I use Daler-Rowney Soluble Gloss Varnish then I use Testors Dullcote Lacquer. They are both brush on and I leave the models at least a week between coats. I have always found spray varnish to be too temperamental

Try Army Painter ANTI-SHINE. It's cheap and has great matt effect.

What I am searching for is that it wont have any shining at all when it dries out. Do you have any experience with the brush on version of it?

My buddy is using it, both with airbrush and brush (depending on model size) - showed me before and after effects. It is really great product. I have ordered it for myself a few days ago and waiting for delivery :)

So you spotted no shine or dulling down the highlights right?

My experience is that both the Army Painter "anti-shine", and W&N matte spray really only provide a satin finish. Testors Dullcote used to be the best matte spray, but they changed the formula at some point and now it's pretty satin as well. The only true matte varnish I've found is Golden varnish from the art store. It's thick - almost like a gel, so you have to thin it with water. And it's only brush on, not available in spray, but it will kill any shine.

The Testors Dullcote Lacquer brush on is a perfect matt finish. Don't use sprays anymore

Both are not available in my country. It is costy to order because of the shipping costs. I will try Antishine and W&N and post the results here.
