Hello, dear OR.

I'm repainting some of my older miniatures. Next in line is Grishnakh. I want a similar scheme as done by GW.

Does anyone have a painting guide to match this? Or some paint recommendations?

Cheers

For his skin I'd paint it with a semi-light flesh color and was it with a mix of red and brown ink.

For the armour I'd use very dark colors with some more lighter colors on edge highlights. I usually use drybrushing for the armour of the orcs to get a dirty and worn look at them. I'd start with a black base coat (I always basecoat by painting them myself instead of spray in order to avoid the details from vanishing). Then I'd drybrush the armour with a 50/50 mix of black and the metal colour of your choice. Then adding even drier drybrush with a mix of black and that metal colour (30 black, 70 metal) for the edges of the armour and the sword. And for the finishing touch I'd wash the whole armour and sword with some brown colour (mixing 10 parts of brown and 9 parts of water).

I hope you got some ideas!

In the Two Towers Journey book, they have a page on painting (all old colors) Orcs and Grishnakh.

For orcs:

Armor - Tin Bitz, Chainmail
Hair - Graveyard Earth
Leather - Scorched Brown, Dark Flesh
Skin - Catachan Green or Camo Green or Codex Grey

For Grishnakh "The cunning Grishankh is painted the same as other Orcs but is distinguished by his red skin colour."

Bones - Bubonic Brown, Bleached Bone
Skin - Dark Flesh, Vermin Brown

Old to new paints (what GW says is the best match)
Tin Bitz - Warplock Bronze
Chainmail - Ironbreaker
Graveyard Earth - Steel Legion Drab
Scorched Brown - Rinox Hide
Dark Flesh - Doombull Brown
Catachan Green - Castellan Green
Camo Green - Elysian Green
Codex Grey - Dawnstone
Bubonic Brown - Zamesi Desert
Bleached Bone - Ushabti Bone
Vermin Brown - Skrag Brown
