Hi All

It is with great regret that I’m announcing that I’m leaving the great hobby of The Lord of The Rings tabletop gaming. A rather large and unexpected financial commitment has come my way and the only way I’m going to be able to meet it is to sell through my collection of miniatures, sourcebooks and other related materials. It was an incredibly hard decision to make as I have been an avid if not obsessed collector of the system for many years. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that followed my website and gave comments and feedback to all my posts here. The website will remain for a couple of months and then be offline as I won’t be renewing it. I doubt if any additional content will be added as I won’t be purchasing anymore miniatures. I am hoping to finish off some of my current projects so some photos of these may appear.

Not wanting to break any rules, all I’ll say here is that my collection will be sold off individually on Ebay. So if your interested in anything keep an eye out as I hoping the items will end up in the hands of collectors.

Once again, I’d like to thank you all and wish you all the best in your gaming endeavors.

All the best

:(

Really sad to hear your news. I hope that your financial situation improves.
Thank you for all the great stuff on your site, I've really enjoyed reading it.
I would advise keeping your paints in case you get a chance to use them in the future. Some of my paints are 20 years old and still useable.

I'm sorry to hear that, I've always liked your site. Selling off the collection is a shame.

Gutted! Your site inspired me to get into the hobby, but I can understand what you are saying and the reasons behind it... I have often thought about selling up and moving on, this hobby is every increasing in price and is pushing people, like yourself out of te hobby. Good luck :-)
Ps what's your eBay name so can search for your items?

You could upload all the articles on your website to One-Ring's Tomes of Wisdom, or have others do it. It would be a shame to just delete them all.

That's sad news. It has been great following your projects during these years. I hope you will be able to get back to the hobby at some point in the future.

Didn't always comment on your posts but I have read and enjoyed almost all your articles. As Leonardis said, I think we would all like to bid on your ebay items, so make sure to link them here :)

Sorry to hear this, must be really tough to part with such a good collection.

Perhaps you can keep hold of a couple of the more special items, like a metal version of the Fellowship for instance.

I was nearly forced to sell all mine a few years ago, I had given up for a few years at the time. Glad I didn't now in hindsight (with the greatest respect to your circumstances). I'd say keep the rare ones if at all possible. If you find yourself on firmer ground somewhere down the line it's easy to buy up uruk hai, gondor, two towers heroes etc. They're always on auctions/trades.

Agree with Gene, it's always a hobby you can come back to. Really you can never leave (cue evil laugh ha ha ha)

I had a 6 year break. My mother threw all my stuff into shoeboxes after I moved out. Slowly getting everything fixed and re-painted. You can always come back. Anyway, the important thing is to sort out your finances, and stay out of trouble. Best of luck again.

Sorry to hear about the troubles-bad stuff can come so suddenly and unexpectedly. If you can hang on to just a few that are either rare or for which you have a special affection, then that's something positive.
Drop in and say hello if you get a chance! Best of luck.

Sad news about this but I suggest you keep some of your favourite bits for the future. You can then look back and remember the good times when you look at them. Also they might inspire you to come back to us at the turn of the tide.

As you know old members of the One Ring who have moved on often pop on from time to time and we expect no less of you.

Wow thank you all for your replies, I had no idea my site was so useful to everyone. I going to try and move it to a blog so it'll stay on the web... I'll keep you posted.

I am hoping to keep some of my miniatures especially the painted ones :) but will be selling most of the unpainted metal, plastic and Finecast. Of course I'll pop by and check out what you guys are up to when I can.

If it's ok with the Mods I'll post a link to my Ebay page here as it will be easier to part with my collection knowing they might be going to you guys....

Thanks again for all you kinds words

regards

I'm sad to hear about your troubles, too - best of luck despite the ill tidings, and I certainly look forward to seeing your pages live on as a blog, and seeing your comments from time to time here at OR.

A very sad day indeed, albeit I can relate to your financial issues, selling some stuff myself to raise cash. I wish you all the very best for the future !
