Updated 24/2/14 Hail my fellow Perthians! The names Anthony. etc etc etc all deleted ,lol For future updates look to the dates on the posts bellow. I won't be coming back to this top one probably again soon. It's message was somewhat outdated. Will keep the links up though. If you want info or a game, fire me a PM or follow on the links bellow. The skinny is I'm in Como, Perth, always looking for experienced players or beginners to game with and I'm a regular attendee of some of the clubs about Perth. Would like to see a regular network of SBGamers about Perth, at the moment we all seem some what scattered but highly enthused considering. If you don't already know about them WestGamer is a site dedicated to WA miniature gaming in general: http://www.westgamer.com/forum/portal.php If your already a member, venture on over to gamefinder to find me as "templar-tony" as well. http://www.westgamer.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=6 Hope to see you all on the battlefield! |

Champion! Well if your in Applecross, Outpost (every Tuesday) is just off Canning Highway at the South Perth Library (down from the Como Hotel). I mentioned it in my first post but jump on to westgamers as well mostly because of the time difference with having posts approved (8hours behind Perth? zero offense intended to moderators, totally understand their position and I have read through the forum guidelines twice just to make sure I'm not being naughty). Approval is not required on Westgamers, allowing quick communication, considering Applecross is literally walking distance from my house lol. Despite the fact the game is wonderfully balanced(compared to say oh I don't know, 40k?) and has fantastic miniatures the Perth crowd seems rather dormant. Not sure why, though I've certainly observed heavy focus on maximum competitive play ie. always optimizing armies for the next big 40k,Warhammer, Warmachine, etc tournament at both TGA and Outpost from my visits there in the past. I have only garnered a small number of responses on the game finder on my thread for "weekly hobbit games": http://www.westgamer.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=6 I do intend to have a bit of a shout out(literally standing in giant hall) at the next end of session at Outpost to get some movement going(hopefully) as well as speak to the guys at Tactics to let me have a poster up. |

For those that are interested, I am happy to organise multi-way battles with some of the other members of the Perth SBG community. Over at the Tabletop Gamers Association (TGA) we have play tested rules for games involving 3 OPPOSING armies each with 1000pts. This can be a great way to meet not only SBGamers but other players as well. THE BIGGER THE GAME, THE BIGGER THE CROWD. Three Player Scenario: The Battle of Three Armies http://www.westgamer.com/forum/viewtopi ... 82&t=27048 All credit to Matt-Shadowlord for spending the energy typing up the impeccably formatted ruleset, PDF SOON TO COME! NEW PLAYERS For those that are just starting in the Hobby or if you know someone that wants to learn the game in a relaxed sales pressure free environment feel free to PM me here or to register on Westgamers and get talking with your fellow SBGamers! I still am yet to paint my Fellowship despite the fact I've owned the Mines of Moria set for X number of years . Cheers again everyone for your time Anthony |

^Ps. For those that were wondering or have been a bit quizzical as to my intentions: I just wanted to make it transparent that even though I am promoting the page http://www.westgamer.com/ heavily here I am no way officially affiliated with the owners/operators of the aforementioned website, nor am I an official representative of any Clubs/Organisations/Business etc. I do not promote here for profit nor do I receive any monetary return for my activities. I am active exclusively out of my own interest in the hobby and with the express intention of networking with forum members of the http://www.one-ring.co.uk/ and furthermore helping said persons to establish their network within the Perth Community via the website http://www.westgamer.com/. Thanks you for your time. Anthony |

PMed and I like the look of the threeway game!!!! Its more balanced than trying to add another player to a normal scenario. |

The discussion is ongoing as to the nitty-gritty details surrounding kill points but for the most part the play feels balanced, especially now with alternating warband placement. Having each player place there army individually still results in the one army "sitting back" by virtue of players wanting to protect their flanks even with rolling for table edge placement. Its really interesting way to play and excellent cure for "floating spare player syndrome". |

On the 6/7/14 the Tabletop Gamers Association will be playing host to: HELM'S DEEP:ANNIHILATION - A Hobbit SBG Event(6/7/14@TGA) http://www.westgamer.com/forum/viewtopi ... =4&t=28060 a little ways off but the prep needed for 7000pt game is rather significant. If you're wanting to jump into events like this one or are just looking for a great group of people to play with sign up to Westgamers and throw your two cents into the SBG/WotR conversion: http://www.westgamer.com/forum/portal.php |
