Looking to make a 650 mordor list.
Just wondering what you think.

Warband 1
(Leader) Troll Chief
4 orc trackers
4 orc warriors with spears
3 morannon orcs with shields
(1 with banner)
1 orc warrior with shield.

Warband 2
Grishnahk with shield
4 orc trackers
4 orc warriors with spear
4 orc warriors with shield

Warband 3
Gorbag with shield
4 orc trackers
4 orc warriors with spear
4 orc warriors with shield

Warband 4
Cave Drake

So it should add upto 650 on the dot.
9 might, 40 models, 12 bows.

What do you guys think?

Firstly you could drop Grishnak or Gorbag for an orc shaman. It 's way better. Note that your army has no nazgul but maybe you will not need it

nah... as my opinion...

I would drop the cave drake unless you realy want it.
Hes nearly 200pts which means its like 1 fully warband and half of something...

You could get a shaman from that along with more orcs, I´ve found out if the army gets broken( and cap 20 its easy to obtain to most foes) , orcs are awfull to rally and you gonna hate that as well...
Gris and Gorbag are nice cause there cheap and its 3 might boost each, for monster thing you got a brute mordor troll chief which generally its more than enough to hold on his own...

I wouldn´t take a banner prob, cause he costs like 5 orc warriors geared or like 3 morannon, its pain to obtain good stuff out, if you want banner you need:
- or more numbers
- or get shadowlord to pick protection vs shooting
- if you want a better job for that, the dark marshal is by far better (despite he dont benefit heroes) his range its the double of a regular banner, and its a nazgul regardless ;)

I´ve tryed out some recent games and its fun to go no magic vs no magic armies, but you kinda need badly to have a nazgul around to neutralize powerfull enemy heroes with paralize spells and such, its almost a must..


I would remove:
- cave drake
- morannon orc with banner

add:
Dark marshall on horse
orc shaman
add a few more tracker cause there cheap... or some non upgraded orcs jsut for numbers like 4/5 of em..

Firstly welcome to the One Ring as I see this is your first post.
As to the list, It's not bad. I'd just worry about breaking. That cave drake and Troll won't hang around long once that happens

Very similar to my 650 Minas Morgul list. This is it:
W1:
Dark Marshal
4 Black Numenoreans
4 Orcs w/ Spear
4 Orc Trackers

W2:
Black Numenorean Marshal w/ Shield
4 Black Numenoreans
4 Orcs w/ Spear
4 Orc Trackers

W3:
Gorbag w/ Shield
4 Black Numenoreans
4 Orcs w/ Spear
4 Orc Trackers

W4:
Cave Drake

You need someone w/ high courage for standfast when your army breaks. With only 3 warbands of orcs people will just try and pin up the drake and brake your force. That's why I put the Dark Marshal in. Also adds lots of magic and a 6" banner. And then of course Black Numenorean's terror and the Dark Marshal's Harbinger of Evil work well together.

I think I was looking for a list that would allow the drake to run wild while the rest of the guys did stuff. If they focused the drake then the troll would do damage, if they focused my orcs then the drake would do the same.

Ill take under advisement the orc shamen as I do have a lot of low courage. Specters will hurt me a lot. I just really liked the idea of the drake, never see one on the other side of the table.

Thoughts?

If you like dragons then it's better to play with moria army. By having the support of cheap goblins they can really help. Get some goblin shamans too thought they are a bit expensive if you take more (and you need more...)
