@mertaal I hear that, the new Elrond looks so cool!

I think it would make sense if at the beginning of each turn a model equipped with a equipment that would be impossible to use simultaneously would have to nominate what equipment they were going to use that turn. In real life it wouldn't be difficult to sling your bow into a pack or put it over your back and strap on a shield. Maybe a small movement penalty for switching could apply but it makes sense that a warrior could do that.

How many Elven Blades do you think would be a good call?

You could use elrond in 1000pts.
Warband 1 9/12
Erestor
9 High Elf Warrior with Shield; Spear;
----
Warband 2 10/12
High Elf Stormcaller
10 High Elf Warrior with Elf Bow;
----
Warband 3 9/12
Arwen with Horse;
9 High Elf Warrior with Shield; Spear;
----

Warband 1 5/12
Elrond with Heavy armour; Horse;
5 Knight of Rivendell with Shield;
----
Warband 2 5/12
Lindir with Heavy armour; Horse;
5 Knight of Rivendell with Shield;
----
That's a good 43 units and some really good heroes.

Very nice, but Arwen needs a cloak instead of horse. On a horse she'll be shot in no time.

Warband 1 12/12
Glorfindel, Lord of the West with Horse; Armour of Gondolin;
12 High Elf Warrior with Shield; Spear;
----
Warband 2 12/12
Erestor with Elven cloak;
8 High Elf Warrior with Shield; Spear;
4 High Elf Warrior with Elven Blade;
----
Warband 3 12/12
High Elf Captain with Horse; Elf bow;
11 High Elf Warrior with Elf Bow;
1 High Elf Warrior with Banner;
----
Warband 4 6/12
Rivendell Knight Captain with Shield;
5 Knight of Rivendell with Shield;
1 Knight of Rivendell with Shield; Banner;

992 points; 46 units; 20 spears and shields, 4 elven blades (plus 6 with the Knights), 12 elf bows (plus 6 with the Knights) and 1 banner; 8 might; 6 will and 8 fate (not that I know what that means yet! :o)

I don't think there's anything I can do with those last 8 points.

Edit: I could drop some equipment out of: 2 banners, Erestor's elven cloak (does a model with his defence really need one?), the Captain's horse and Glorfindel's horse in order to take either Gildor, Arwen or a Stormcaller?

I would personally drop the banners and erestor's cloak in favour of 3 more rivendel knights.

I would just drop the foot banners. Keep the cloak, it'll protect him from magic and bow fire until you get into combat. I've found cavalry banners to be useful in the past.

In exchange for two warriors with Elven Blades, the Captain's horse and the banners I can take Elrond and not have any wasted points. What do you think about this one? If there's nothing really wrong with it then I think this is the one! :D

Warband 1 6/12
Elrond with Heavy armour; Horse;
6 Knight of Rivendell with Shield;
----
Warband 2 12/12
Glorfindel, Lord of the West with Horse; Armour of Gondolin;
12 High Elf Warrior with Shield; Spear;
----
Warband 3 10/12
Erestor with Elven cloak;
8 High Elf Warrior with Shield; Spear;
2 High Elf Warrior with Elven Blade;
----
Warband 4 12/12
High Elf Captain
12 High Elf Warrior with Elf Bow.

That looks like a list I would field at that level so I would say go for it!

I've decided decided to write a 500pt list too on the recommendation of the GBHL lads. I definitely want to include Glorfindel (armoured and mounted) and probably Erestor. I've been playing around with the army builder spreadsheet but I'm not 100% sure where to spend some of the points on equipment. The first list I came up with was 500pts:

Glorfindel, Lord of the West with Horse; Armour of Gondolin;
8 High Elf Warrior with Shield; Spear;
2 High Elf Warrior with Elven Blade;
2 High Elf Warrior with Elf Bow;

Erestor with Elven cloak;
8 High Elf Warrior with Shield; Spear;
2 High Elf Warrior with Elven Blade;
2 High Elf Warrior with Elf Bow;

However, this I feel I should be right up to the bow limit with elves so I fiddled a bit and got this (also 500pts):

Glorfindel, Lord of the West with Horse; Armour of Gondolin;
6 High Elf Warrior with Shield; Spear;
2 High Elf Warrior with Elven Blade;
4 High Elf Warrior with Elf Bow;

Erestor with Elven cloak;
6 High Elf Warrior with Shield; Spear;
2 High Elf Warrior with Elven Blade;
4 High Elf Warrior with Elf Bow;

But I didn't know if ditching Erestor's elven cloak in favour of giving the bowmen spears would be better, this would allow my highest defense troops to remain in front and be supported. Ditching the cloak and buying spears would bring the points to 498. What do you guys think?

Ditch the cloak and buy the spears. As long as Erestor isn't in the front lines until combat he's not going to die to bowfire very easily, especially with all his fate.

I agree, and this looks like a great list. But I would take Gil-Galad with a shield over Glorfindel
