Hey guys,

Fairly new to the whole army building business but thought I'd ask on here. I've got the Lonely knight's army builder which is super useful but a couple of opinions wouldn't go astray.

A mate of mine who doesn't play LOTR is giving me about 20 Mahud camel raiders (scoreeeee!) that he had used for other stuff and I thought it could be awesome to build a list using them. I can pretty much get access to whatever apart from blowpipe infantry which continue to elude me.

What would be a reasonable list at say the 600pt mark? (or any other value you'd think would be more practical)

I don't understand what you are asking. Do you want a 600pt army comprised of Mahud raiders and their heroes or do you want a 600pt Harad army that contains Mahud raiders as a smaller element within it?

Ahh sorry if it's not clear. Looking to do an army that comprises of mahud raiders primarily for something a bit different. Just after a few tips on composition (ie if its just a dumb idea to do all raiders and I should drop some other bits and pieces in) and how you would play an army like that :)

20 mahud raiders is insane! wish I had that many in my collection!

As the raiders go they are fantastic in game models but they can struggle a little going solo, I find they work best as a small warband attached to a larger harad army.

I reckon 8-10 mahud raiders in a 600pts would be ideal, they pack a real punch but to many really eat into your points

You could get a in 18 raiders with warspears and blowpipes, plus two banners, split into two 9 man groups. One lead by a Tribemaster with camel, shield and warspear, and the other by a King with camel, shield, and warspear for just under 550pts. I don't know that it would due supper well but it might be interesting to try out on the field for fun. But in general I'd suggest using them is a small group like HaradYNWA said. They can be a bit of a point sink though so I'd use them alongside a infantry spam sort of set up.

You could also drop the king for the betrayer on armoured horse for just under 600pts to increase the effectiveness of all your poison blowpipes.
