I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before but I can't find an answer. Are there any alternate orc models available that fit the size and style of the GW LoTR orcs? I'm not so concerned with saving money, more for some variation in poses/sculpts. Thanks.

You could try wargames factory orcs:

I've never tried them before, but they seem similar in style.

I have a few of those wargames factory orcs. They are quite big. About the size of mordor uruks. Lots of weapon options though which is great for conversions.

The heresy goblins make good orc trackers and they have a 20% off sale on at the moment too. http://www.heresyminiatures.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_73

I'm going to (at some point) do some conversions using both GW Orcs and Moranon Orcs and some WGF ones. Orcs that are disproportionate shouldn't be a huge deal methinks, and the variations would be near endless.

Oh yes, I've looked into those Heresy Goblins, they look pretty good! Might also make excellent Goblin Prowlers with bows.

Yesterday, I found some Orcs from Eureka: http://eurekaminusa.com/catalog.aspx?c= ... ageIndex=0
Yes, these are 18mm, but according to the books, most Orcs (other than some chieftains and the Uruks) were a fair bit smaller than Men anyway. So here we go, these are a fair bit smaller!
The models themselves look pretty good to me. They seem to be inspired by LotR to say the least, and therefore very useful! I'm definitely thinking about buying some of those. Especially the lightly armoured ones look very nice! Also check out these normal Orcs: http://eurekamin.com.au/index.php?cPath ... 19&sort=3a

If you don't feel like using a different scale, maybe these ones appeal to yo:

http://www.sgmm.biz/Wolf-Riders_c_65.html
http://www.sgmm.biz/Goblins_c_68.html
This company used to be known under their name Vendell Miniatures, but nowadays is called Sgt Major Miniatures. They also have some pretty cool other Fantasy ranges, so make sure to check these out too.

Thunderbolt also has a couple of nice Goblins. I especially like these ones:

http://www.thunderboltmountain.com/prod ... in-captain

Hasslefree also has a couple useful Goblins:
http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?product=m ... 26-goblins
http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?product=g ... 26-goblins

As you can see, the style of the Orcs/Goblins all slightly vary, but a lot -I think- has been inspired by (at least) the books of Tolkien. This obviously makes them perfect for us! :)
