Middle-Earth's Deadliest Warband

I've been considering an idea for a new video type for the Hobbit League Youtube Channel, it's sort of like Deadliest Warrior but with warbands.

I want it to be a community project so each week I'll pick two warbands to duke it out, but I want YOU to make the warbands. Here are the rules:

- 1 infantry warband (upto 12 models) with a maximum 6 cavalry models including hero mounts (no monsters),
- <100pts unnamed hero
- Bow limits apply
- try to keep the warband cost as close to 220 as possible (this includes the cost of the hero)
- Break tests as normal (as this plays a large factor into models values)
- State who you want to control the warband: James or Jamie

The fight will take place on an 18"x18" board, with light terrain. The warbands will move on from opposite board edges.

The opening video will be 5 Sons of Eorl and Mounted Rohan Captain with Gear vs Rivendell Knight Captain and 5 Rivendell Knights.

So SBGers, build me some warbands and the first bunch will be picked on 17/11/13

I've randomly drawn a knockout league (hopefully you can see the picture) for the main factions. So when writing lists bare in mind the potential opponents for that faction.

I like the idea of playing a game with one "Killer" warband against another!
I shall get thinking and put together a couple of suggestions later in the week.

Doesn't matter who,

good:
eorl the young
5 sons of eorls (max. 6 cav) (otherwise it would be six)
2 rohan royal guards with trowingspears

224 points, for 220 drop the trowing spears.

Evil:
haradrim captain
6 half trolls
6 haradhrim+bow+spear

225 points, just a powerful block with spears and bows so they can shoot (50% bow rule). and deadly trolls with 2 wounds and really strong.

...I now see that the opening army also is including those sons of eorl, rather without eorl the young.

Also, not sure if the Half Trolls in the army still allow for a 50% bow limit.

220 Moria:
Moria Goblin Shaman
3 Warg Marauders (count as goblins, so affected by Fury!)
8 Gundabad Blackshields, 6 of whom have spears

May seem like a plain list but pretty OP. All str 5 warriors w/ d 6 or over.

@coenus: half trolls do still count for 50% bows rule.
elflover: right, i didn't saw that, change it to a captain with heavy armour an shield on horse, and put 3 rohan royal guards in.

narcilreforced:
that isn't that good, they need spear support because now they would for example be to weak agains those half trolls or camels

- Wood Elf Captain with bow and elven cloak
- 2x Wood Elf Sentinels
- 2x Wood Elf Warriors with Elf bow and Elven Cloak
- 3x Wood Elf Warriors with Wood Elf Spear and Throwing daggers

This is what I'd do with Minas Tirith:

- King of Men (Armoured Horse, Heavy Armour, Lance, Shield)
- Knights of Minas Tirith x5 (Shields)
- Guards of the Fountain Court x5 (Shields)

It actually comes to 215, but I see some lists that have gone over so you could add a warrior with a shield to make it 223.

I am surprised no one has used a Knight of the white tower seeing as that is not a "named" hero , and would be interesting to see how they get on.

I almost put him in the MT list but then it's hard to fill a single warband out to 220. Even taking a King with all the bells and whistles left me 5 points short.

He's great, no doubt, but that would leave you with only 1 point of might and I reckon a mounted King with a lance can deal just as much pain.
