Hello Everyone I have built this army 600 pts. What do you think? I don't plan to play competitively but I don't want it to be useless. Haldir's Elves War band 1: Haldir w/ Armour, Elf Bow and Elven Cloak 7x Haldir's Elves w/ Elf Swords 1x Galadhrim Standard Bearer 4x Haldir's Elves w/ Elf Bows War band 2: Galadhrim Captain w/ Elf Sword and Elf Bow 8x Haldir's Elves w/ Elf Swords 4x Haldir's Elves w/ Elf Bows War Band 3: Galadhrim Captain w/ Elf Sword and Elf Bow 8x Haldir's Elves w/ Elf Swords 4x Haldir's Elves w/ Elf Bows Total: 600 pts 7 might 24 Warriors 12 Archers With this army I'm going for numbers (weird for an elf army I know) and I understand that defence and no spear support are my biggest weaknesses but I want to do as much shooting as I can and use a buddy system for my elves where two will charge to even out a spear supported fight. I have the Haldir Defender of Helms Deep model but I want to maximise shooting so I've opted to use the armoured model with bow for the expert shot rule. Also I'm using the old Galadhrim models and with wysiwyg so that's also part of the reason I haven't added spears, etc... I like to keep theme so I won't be allying in other factions unless it makes sense. Thanks |

It's not a bad list but my concern would be (as you mentioned) the lack of spears. The "buddy system only works if you can dictate the fights. If you're opponent out-numbers you or packs his troops in tight, then you will unable to bring 2 or more troops to bear against his potential spear support. And as a long-time Durin's Folk player I understand this all too well lol. |

An elf army's greatest strength is it's named heroes - swap the generic captains for characters like Rumil, Legolas, Thranduil (the latter two only if you are okay using Mirkwood heroes). If you want to use a generic captain I would recommend mounting him for extra hitting power - that way you get the most out of his high points cost. |

This list is exactly 600 points I dont think I can afford to swap the heroes. But I can probably get rid of the banner bearer to make room for them. |

But rumil and a Galadrim captain with blade and bow are basically the same number of points. Just give more equipment to your infantry or your other captain with the remaining points |

I will probably put Rumil in, I don't want to put Mirkwood Heroes in a Lothlorien Army. |

guards of the galadhrim court? i believe spears are better then elven blades however I realise this view is not shared by everyone. Get a Galadhrim knight with banner for a mobile banner.Which you can move around the battlefield.12 inch movement will prove to be helpful. And if necesarry dismount if you want to. |

I was actually thinking of replacing some with Guards of The Galadhrim Court. How many would be effective? I was thinking 12 and replacing a captain with Rumil. |
