Is this battle tested, because if it is I am screwed
Morgul Knights are the shock cavalry of a Mordor force. With a higher Fight value than most Evil warriors and a high Defence value they are perfect for breaking the back of an enemy army and their lances will make short work of even Dwarven Armour.. Unlike most cavalry, which suffer from being counter charged, the Terror causing Morgul Knights are only likely to be charged half as often, as any Good warriors will have to take Courage tests to charge them. Accompanied by a mounted Ringwraith (whose Harbinger of Evil rule reduces the Courage value of all Good models within 12") Morgul Knights will be almost impossible for Good warriors to engage. This alone makes Morgul Knights fantastic, as they will almost always get to charge, making them far more effective than any other cavalry in The Lord of The Rings Strategy Battle Game.

Well it depends if you play elves they have a great chance of passing the courage test anyway but if used well Morgul Knights can be great

I'd have to disagree that they're the "most effective" Courage tests are pretty easy to pass unless you're less than courage 3. They're very points heavy and limited in their options and against the Dwarves you mentioned, Khazad Guard make short work of them as their body-guard makes them fearless

Good news, your not "screwed"!
Morgal knights are, likely, evils best line breaking cavalry(excluding chariots, fell beast and mumaks). But there are not undisputedly the best model for model best cavalry in the game. Both the Rivendell knights and the Sons of Eorl are strong contends for that title. As for most effective against given a random but competitive enemy faction, no. All the elves, and dwarfs factions have high enough courage, defends and/or body guard count to stand a charge. The fiefs and rohan have cavalry that could meet them head on with decent odds of successes.
Look... their not bad units lances give them an advantage against dwarfs when compared to wargs or basic orcs, true. Could the dark marshal and a full component of knights ruin your day? You bet, their just not the be all end all troop on the battle field. It all still comes down to how well both of you role and that's really it.

I find Mahud more effective, what with the S4 hit for charging, the fact they are S4, have the option for Lances (warspears) and have the same D as RoR and most of cavalry in the game. Mahud raider with morgul knight would be a horrific combo.
